Atheist Billboard Is Myth-Guided
By Bill Dunn
The American Atheists organization sponsors billboards every Christmas season. One of their favorite billboards depicts a Nativity scene, with the silhouettes of Mary and Joseph kneeling in prayer next to the manger which holds the baby Jesus. A bright star shines overhead. And off to the side, three distinguished men riding camels are headed toward the Holy Family to pay homage.

The Healing Mass
By Susan Skinner
I started my new mission as an Adult RCIA Coordinator at a new parish. At Mass on Sunday the Priest invited us to a St. Anthony Healing Mass on the first Tuesday of the month. Apparently, this is something they do the first Tuesday of every month.

Why We Should Visit Cemeteries in November
By Dan Goddu
I'm not sure exactly when it was that I started to find cemeteries to be peaceful places. But they are filled with so much hope.

Heavenly contemplations
By Marie Kelly
My favorite book on heaven is by author Anthony Destefano entitled: A Travel Guide to Heaven. In the book, he presents a beautiful imagination of what we hope for as Catholics. Reading it invites the reader to imagine adventures awaiting us in our true home.

All Souls--Dear God Letters
By Dom Perry
"As the deer longs for streams of water, so my soul longs for you, O God." Psalm 42:2. My soul thirsts for heavenly desires after a life of flesh, and worldly needs. My soul is only strengthened when at Holy Mass I encounter the only true love my soul desires--that which my soul only truly craves for. When at prayer at your altar I ask for, and feel the presence of God.

Help the Poor Souls
By Anne Marty
November is the month of the Poor Souls in Purgatory. The Holy Founder of the Marians,Blessed Stanislaus Papczynski, says the greatest work of charity is to pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. He said "pray brethren for the souls in purgatory for they suffer unbearably."

Thelma and Louise With Jesus
By Judy Landrieu Klein
“Can you please help me bring my son to Communita Cenacolo?” I asked my friend, Mary Lou McCall, in desperation four and a half years ago. That request—and her unhesitating “yes”—took us on a road trip 600 miles away to St. Augustine, Florida, where we delivered my then-nineteen-year-old son, Christian, to a Catholic community founded to heal those in the grips of addiction.

The Fast of Saint Martin: Preparation for Christmas
By Madeline Pecora Nugent, CFP
For those in the know, we are currently well into the Fast of St. Martin. For those not in the know, they will wonder what in the world is that! The Fast of St. Martin was practiced in medieval times to prepare for Christmas. It predated the current Advent preparation.

When I Grow Up?
By Michael Adsit
Being a husband and father of three has given me opportunities to share stories of faith, hope and love with you all. Is my marriage and family life perfect? When you walk into my home, will you see a "Walton Family Thanksgiving" or a "Very Brady Christmas"? Probably not.

Authentic Leadership of St. Joseph
By Charles Johnston
Joseph was the man who was betrothed to Mary when she came home one night, pregnant. Many men would have left her that moment knowing the child was not his. You see there was little confusion on this point as Mary, at least as far as Joseph knew was a virgin.

My Keys
By Norma Elaine Robertson
I am going to write about a few keys that I have gained throughout living my Catholic faith. These keys are still major points in living my Catholic faith, and still continue to help in shaping me as a child of God. In studying and praying, these keys have helped me in healing, forgiving, and loving, all with pure intentions. From the very first moment, I realized that I spoke and God answered.

My Friends, The Saints
By Sterling Jaquith
When I converted to Catholicism after being an Evangelical Protestant, there were a lot of new things to take in. There was the Pope and the tradition of the Church. There was Mary and the rosary. There was adoration and confession. There were feast days and fast days. And then there were the saints.

Lessons From The Craft Fair
By Carol Ann Chybowski
I have recently moved to a new parish and was delighted to see what a great event they have made of their holiday craft fair. Holiday boutiques are ubiquitous, and they are sometimes brushed aside as old-fashioned or boring or filled with thing you don’t really need but buy anyway because it’s just what we do this time of year.

The Passion of the Church, part 2: The Modernist Attack on Feminine Dignity
By Traditional Catholic Guy
The topic of this article is a very grave one, and unfortunately it is not discussed often today. The attack and loss of feminine dignity has had more destructive effects upon this nation and upon the world than any other immorality, save blasphemy and sacrilege.

The perils of preaching
By John Rieping
When a catechism teacher supposedly asked her class why they should be quiet in church, a child replied, “Because people are sleeping.” Many, young and old alike, may agree with the late comedian George Burns when he said, “The secret of a good sermon is to have a good beginning and a good ending, and to have the two as close together as possible.”

Death with Dignity? Or Do Life and Death Belong to God?
By Rachel Lucas
The Saturday before All Souls Day, in my home state, cancer victim Brittany Maynard exercised Oregon’s “death with dignity” law to end her own life. She moved here from California for just this purpose. She reasoned that she was dying, that she didn’t want to suffer any more than she had to, and that she deserved the right to end her own life with “dignity” on her own terms and timing.

I was an Instrument of Mary's Without Knowing I was Ever Being Played
By Dean P. Johnson
In his Prayer of Consecration to Mary, St. Maximilian Kolbe says, “Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands...” Soon after my wife and I had completed our own consecration following Fr. Michael E. Gaitley’s 33 Days to Morning Glory, I began to reflect on my life and suddenly realized how I had been an instrument of Mary without ever realizing it.
