Feelings
By Catherine Garrett
Recently on Facebook I have seen posts about people wanting to find "a new church". There are various reasons; the new pastor is boring, the person asking hasn't been to church in years and now has children and so they need a church with a separate children's service, their last church didn't clap enough... But the ones that really get to me are the "I was raised Catholic but...."

The Veil
By Jennifer Elia
By tradition, the sacred has always been veiled. The Holy of Holies of the Old Testament Tabernacle and the Temple was veiled because it was so sacred that it was not permitted to be seen by the average person. Even priests were only allowed very limited access behind the veil.

Baptism: Part 1 Born Again the Biblical Way
By Kevin Noles
There is a lot of ground to cover about Baptism. Instead of one extremely long article, I have broken this topic down into three articles in order to focus on certain areas.

Why I go to Daily Mass
By Tess Shore
It seems every week someone will come up to me and ask me Why I go to Daily Mass? I know that I am the youngest person in Church on most occasions. I get the comments from friends such as "You don't need a church to pray." Or my favorite comment of how can the priest be Jesus. You can talk to Jesus anywhere. Yes, they have valet points and I can quote them Bible versus to make a point.

The Journey Begins
By Lori Conklin
The decision to grow in holiness/wholeness is an invitation to actively participate in the history of salvation by using our uniqueness to bring others to Christ. We know we are being called into a deeper relationship with Christ, we may not be able to articulate it but we "know" it. We sense God calling us to Himself for a purpose that has not yet been revealed.

Why Do You Remain Catholic?
By Nina Rizzo
The world I grew up in was Catholic. I am first generation American; my parents are from Italy and came to this country after they were married and landed by ship in New York harbor. All my relatives made the same voyage and still live within walking distance of my childhood home.

Do Actions Speak Louder than Words?
By Mallory Hoffman
Together, St. Francis and his friars would travel through towns and the countryside, preaching the gospel. A stigmatist, a healer, a man who preached to the birds who listened to him, a miracle worker, and he lived in peace. He resisted many changes to his order. When they were approved, he became very sad and depressed. His peace left him.

Blessing of Beauty
By Theresa Buckley
As I drive down the road of my little town I am caught by the beauty that surrounds me; the trees, mountains, wild flowers, the sun shimmering on the lake, even children playing on the playground. My heart rejoices at the sight of such beauty and I lift my heart in praise to God. As my thoughts turn to God I recognize a bigger blessing involved; the blessing to be able to see the beauty.

Insult to Inury
By Barbara Golder
My morning devotion had suggested Confession as penance that Friday morning. Having been relatively recently, I quickly talked myself out of following through despite my personal promise of obedience to the program I had set out for myself. Still, I found myself engaging in a reluctant but insistent examination of conscience in the down moments of that day, spent at a meeting where I was litera

Blessed Be the Name of the LORD
By Jennifer Elia
In Biblical history and Jewish tradition, the name of God is so sacred, so revered, that it is never uttered. Even Moses, who is the one mere mortal that comes closest to seeing God face to face and lives to tell about it, is only given a descriptive title when he asks for God's name. "I AM who AM."

The Eucharist 101-Emmaus
By Al Vargo
Jesus says Mass with the disciples on the road to Emmaus. Luke 24: 13 And behold, two of them were going that very day (the day of the Resurrection) to a village named Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem.

On Justification
By Crysaly Aviles
Justification is important to me, because I know with great certainty that I did not earn my salvation but it was given to me strictly by grace. As a result, I was moved to research justification by grace. These are my findings:

Being Where Jesus Is
By Matt Warner
About six months ago my wife and I became the youth ministers of a parish that did not have a youth program. Not a day goes by that we don't love what we are doing. But also, not a day goes by that we don't ask ourselves, “What in the world have we gotten ourselves into?”

Growing In Holiness
By Lori Conklin
Once we can begin to see ourselves as God see's us, with all our gifts and talents along with all our shortcomings both God-given and man-made, we can begin the process of wholeness. It may start out as an instantaneous illumination, where we see ourselves briefly as God sees us. This will bring euphoria and dread.

This Place Is Messed Up
By Deacon Vernon Dobelmann
Dysfunction sometimes seems like the norm rather than the exception. We can easily look around and see what is wrong in our families, our communities, our places of employment, our church congregation, our nation, and our world. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that problems exist. However, the complexities of these problems may generate significant difficulty in finding solutions.

Our Friends the Saints
By Erika Wehrly
The Catholic Church has recognized thousands of Saints from all walks of life and from all over the world. Young or old, rich or poor, there is a Saint who has lived a life similar to yours and struggled with something you struggle with. One of the coolest things about the Saints is that they are actively seeking to assist all of us who remain on Earth and those in Purgatory.
