Mother of Five, Sentenced to be Hanged, Pleads, "Please do not abandon Me."
By Larry Peterson
Back on October 22, I wrote a blog about a wife and mother of five kids who lives in Pakistan and has been sentenced to death by hanging for the crime of "blasphemy". That's right; BLASPHEMY. And how does one commit such a heinous act in Pakistan? Asia Bibi drank some water that was only supposed to be for Muslims to drink. She is a Catholic/Christian and is therefore considered "unclean".

Amendment 1 doesn't fit into a box.
By Susan Charest
Today, I stood in line at a christian church to vote. I watched parents pacify their children with car keys and candy as we were corralled into a line of wait. I observed those who were well versed on the amendments, candidates and how each was in and out of their winged-spaces within 5 minutes. Five persons deep, I started to pray.

Time to Pause, Take a Breath, and Give Thanks to HIM
By Larry Peterson
The simplicity of the Thanksgiving Holiday captured my spirit decades ago. This is the one day of the year where we, as Americans, just stop everything and take a breath from the year gone by to say THANK YOU to God.

Church Year Comes To An End
By Bill Dunn
Have you made your plans for New Year’s yet? It’s coming soon, you know. No, I’m not trying to rush through the rest of the year and skip the holiday season. I’m talking about the new year of the Church calendar, which starts soon, on the first Sunday of Advent. So this weekend coming up is the final Sunday of the liturgical year.

We Christians are the Most Persecuted People on the Planet
By Larry Peterson
The persecution of our brother and sister Catholic/Christians continues unabated all over the world. In the Middle East, North Africa and Asia Minor, thousands upon thousands of our brothers and sisters in faith have been summarily tortured, raped, beheaded, hanged, burned, shot and even buried alive simply because they love Jesus Christ.

And Now What?
By John C Prejean Sr.
So now that the 2014 Midterm Elections are over, which was a big win for the pro-life movement, where do we go from here? Personally speaking, from observations that I’ve made and discussions that I’ve had with parishioners in my Church, we have a long way to go and a short time to get there in regards to educating our fellow Catholics on voting principles,

There are Angels Among Us, Sent Down To Us, From God Above
By Sharla Ynostrosa
I want to list some of the many blessings that I have seen and experienced each day during the Fall 40 Days for Life Campaign. I was touched by angels every day, God is so great! I wish that I had taken the time to list one recap of each day as it happened.

Lessons From The Craft Fair
By Carol Ann Chybowski
I have recently moved to a new parish and was delighted to see what a great event they have made of their holiday craft fair. Holiday boutiques are ubiquitous, and they are sometimes brushed aside as old-fashioned or boring or filled with thing you don’t really need but buy anyway because it’s just what we do this time of year.

Giving thanks for my best gift
By John Rieping
A few years ago on the U.S. day of thanksgiving, I reluctantly watched a cartoon on the journey of the English émigrés, the pilgrims, who sought religious freedom by settling in North America.

40 Days of Prayer, Fellowship, and Blessings
By Sharla Ynostrosa
The Fall "40 Days for Life" Campaign is over! I received an email from the 40 Days headquarters letting me know that 546 babies were saved during this campaign! Isn't that amazing? I'm so thankful for all the people who took the time to come and pray.

All The Small Things
By Monique Ocampo
Pope Francis’s general intention for the month of November is “That all who suffer loneliness may experience the closeness of God and the support of others.” One stereotype associated with introverts is that they are loners. As an introvert, I can say that it’s definitely not true.

Scientific Hands of God.
By Susan Charest
Last week I read Pope Francis comment of how the Big Band theory and evolution does not prove that God isn’t our Creator. He eloquently said, "The Big Bang, which today is held as the beginning of the world, does not contradict the intervention of the divine creator, but requires it.” I couldn’t agree more.

Alzheimer's Disease; An Ever Expanding Universe of Blankness
By Larry Peterson
Right now, in my world, I am fighting like crazy to keep just a tiny little space free in my brain. It is becoming my secondary challenge. My life’s ultimate challenge is now in my face. It is being Caregiver to my wife who has entered a world from which there is no turning back. She has Alzheimer’s Disease.

Death with Dignity? Or Do Life and Death Belong to God?
By Rachel Lucas
The Saturday before All Souls Day, in my home state, cancer victim Brittany Maynard exercised Oregon’s “death with dignity” law to end her own life. She moved here from California for just this purpose. She reasoned that she was dying, that she didn’t want to suffer any more than she had to, and that she deserved the right to end her own life with “dignity” on her own terms and timing.

Planned-Parenthood-Supporting Catholic Politicians: "A Pathetic Spectacle"
By Catholic365
Prior to the recent primary election I received a heartfelt letter from a member of the Diocese who had just discovered that the candidate for whom she had intended to vote was “pro-choice and for same-sex marriage.” She wrote: “Dear Bishop Tobin, for whom do I vote? Do I vote at all?

Cardinal Dolan's Parade Compromise
By A. Patrick Schneider II, MD, MPH
I have been mulling for nearly two months over Register columnist Pat Archibold’s blog (“Cardinal Dolan and the shameful NYC St. Patrick’s Gay Parade”, Sep 3, 2014). Archibold is right. This is indeed “shameful.” Catholics need clarity on marriage and family from its leadership, not more confusion.
