Our Wayward Home
By Greg Schlueter
Glenn Beck was talking about our nation’s demise. College riots. Racial tension. Extramarital sex. Addictions. Breakdown of marriage and family. And he offered reasons. Lack of economic opportunity. Politics. Education. While these are all contributing factors, they pale in comparison to the number one, epic factor in a child’s success or failure: Parenting.

Stop Holding Hands
By Lorrie McNickle
I came across an article recently that dealt with this “touchy” subject of holding hands and the Orans position during Mass. The article sparked lots of debate and a multitude of comments, hundreds of them in fact. The articles also elicited tens of thousands of shares, and I was struck by how such a seemingly minor aspect of the Mass could become such a hot bed of debate and contention.

What You Will Regret Most in Purgatory
By David Vermont
So what happens when we die? We know that when we die we will meet Jesus and be judged by the Lord. It will be a perfect judgment, perfectly balancing the demands of justice with God’s infinite mercy. As Catholics, we know that as a result of this judgment we will have one of three “destinations”. We will go to Heaven, Hell or Purgatory.

Communion: Tongue or Hand?
By Mike Bugal
This is a topic that I have wanted to address for some time now. For some, it has become a point of division in the Church… even though the Lord intended it as a point of unity. As with many doctrinal issues it really comes down to the question of authority. Does the Church have the right to dictate how a sacrament will be administered and by whom?

Reflections on the Coronation of The Blessed Virgin Mary
By Frank J. Maduri
The Liturgical Calendar marks The Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15th and in my reflection during the course of that Holy Day of Obligation, I found myself pondering the events handed down through centuries of Catholic tradition. The backdrop is the world in which there seems to be so much darkness, anger, and fear.

Unraveling God's Plan
By Allison Brown
When my second child was around three months old, we traveled to Melbourne for his Godparents Wedding. We were staying in a house that belonged to a lady from the church. It was an older home that had been added onto, obviously to fit their large family.

Thoughts of A Housewife
By Belinda S. Herring
Does the Lord see me here at home alone as I quietly clean the kitchen and wash the floors? Does he know the thoughts of my mind and the desire within my heart as I go about my chores? Does he bring the little red bird to peck on my window pane every morning and sing on my chimney at midday?

Filipinos and their lessening love and reverence of the body
By Rose Cuervo
The body contains the individual, the soul which together make the unique person, which is a member of a particular country, family, history. The body is sacred, being sanctified by the Son of God Himself who was incarnated to a Flesh and Blood reality while being God as well (an event called a hypostatic union).

From walking and laughing to a better approach to life and suffering
By Michele Szekely
For the last couple of months, I have had this recurring personal statement going through my head and it has to do with enjoying life, appreciating every little thing that comes my way. It goes like this “Ma vie est magnifique!” which I would rather translate as “my life is terrific” than my life is magnificent because “terrific” sounds less pompous to me
