Blessed Journey
By The Prayerful Pilgrim
Life is a gift and it is a journey. There are those you journey with, some for a long period and some short, but each of us is called to a specific vocation which is ours alone. My journey thus far has been full of hills and valleys; moments of clarity and moments of confusion. During one particular deep valley, I realized the truth that God wrote on my heart at the moment of my conception.

Faith In Action--Love In Correction (Nagging wives, take note)
By Rose Cuervo
Truly when one is suffering from sin, until one achieves true and deep repentance, the accusations and condemning will be there, sometimes it will stay after Confession, for us to reflect some more the gravity of what we committed so we will be convicted to not do it again. For healing to happen, there will have to be a diagnosis of what ails one and then the actions of the healer can proceed.

Moving Mom
By Sue Hallett
It is a bitterly cold January morning. Today we are moving my Mom from her retirement apartment to a small bedroom in a very nice adult family home. Mom has had three falls since Oct. 6th that have necessitated using her LifeLine, two of them involving EMS. Her memory is getting poorer and her ability to take her own medications independently has faded away.

No Time for Family Prayer?
By Rexcrisanto Delson
This year marks the one hundredth year anniversary of when our Blessed Mother Mary appeared to Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco in Fatima, Portugal. Among the various messages our Lady of Fatima told these children, the one Lucia shared about the attack of the family seems more relevant today than ever.

2 Causes behind Courthouse Weddings
By Melanie R. Cameron
Interviewing multiple couples who married at the courthouse, eloped, or had a very small ceremony at a family's home, this article asks the ultimate question that I consider a very good question to ask when first planning a wedding: "Who is it for, ultimately?" As Catholics, our response, I hope, is that marriage is for the greater glory of God, who calls these two into unity in the Sacrament o

Patience, Persistence, Love
By The Prayerful Pilgrim
I can tell mid-year has arrived in our home school. I feel some of the anxiety...have we done enough?...have they learned anything?...do they love or resent being here? So, I was grateful to be able to take a few hours out recently to attend a retreat at the local seminary.

A Twenty-Something's Perspective on the Extraordinary Form
By Nicholas LaBanca
There seems to be a lot of sparks flying around within the Church, and it's sad to see so many people divided over various issues. There is so much on my mind regarding these things, but one in particular I'd like to address are some comments made by the Holy Father about a week ago regarding the Extraordinary Form (EF) of the Latin Rite.

Our Lady of La Leche
By Julie
Nuestra Señora de la Leche y Buen Parto (Our Lady of the Milk and Happy Delivery) is the official name of the Shrine in Florida dedicated to Our Lady. This is also the site of the “official” first Mass in the United States around 1596. (Note: Other Masses were offered before this time frame—but this is the first official location that has a shrine.)

Please Pray for My Dear Mother
By Alan Scott
Many of you may be aware from my Facebook page that my mother suffered a terrible stroke on December 28th. Currently she has been left with the inability to swallow (leaving her on a feeding tube), and is also unable to speak, read, or communicate and is often in pain.

Contra Contraception
By Samuel Matthews
What’s the big deal? This is often the reaction of Catholics and non-Catholics alike to the Church’s teaching on contraception. Unfortunately, thanks to the work of people like Margaret Sanger, we live in a culture of death that does not give the use of contraception so much as a second thought.

An Open Letter To The Child I Never Had
By Starla Hester
You would be about 8 years old or maybe even older if God would have willed us to have children naturally. You may have even had a sibling by now. I had names picked out for you. Emmalyn Grace, if you were a girl and John Paul or Samuel Dean if you were a boy. I imagined you with your dad's dominant traits of brown hair and brown eyes, but with my pudgy nose

When is the best time to plant a tree? I get this question often, and I always have the same answer, “20 years ago”.

The Child and the King
By Nancy Marie Murray
The Gospel for Epiphany tells of the visit of the magi, who follow a star to find the newborn king of the Jews. These men stop in Jerusalem seeking direction from King Herod and his scribes and high priests. Herod is “greatly troubled, and all Jerusalem with him,” at the news of the birth of the prophesied king of the Jews. But Herod’s reaction is not one of joy and amazement

My Cross, My Life and Wisdom
By Kathy Lamb
I’m sad, but extremely happy, when I think of the bad times God pulled me through. The more I suffer, the wiser I become. God gave me the gift of Wisdom at my baptism when I was only a few weeks old. Pope Francis tells us that Wisdom is seeing through the eyes of God.

God's Will.....Are you listening?
By Ebeth Weidner
The things that happen to us throughout our lives are known by our Heavenly Father way before our birth. He knows what we say, think, do, He knows us inside and out without a word spoken. It is humbling to think of this as a mom, I do not know my children to this extent.

Am I being lied to?
By Erika Wehrly
Have you ever wondered if you believe a lie? There are lots of things we simply do not know for certain. Can we trust what the majority says is right and true? I lived as a victim of a lie for many years. I became so convinced the lie was true that it became a subconscious fact. The lie I believed was that I thought it was wrong to be happy.

My Uncle Marcel was my mother's only sibling. He earned three degrees, was a member of the US Peace Corps in the early 1960s serving in the Philippines, was a tenured Associate Professor of Biology, and upon his retirement, was named professor Emeritus.
