Just Offer It UP
By Lori Conklin
I got home late last night after attending a leadership meeting at our Parish. We are on the verge of a revival of sorts after a long line of unfortunate events that should have shut us down. I keep looking at the events as they unfold in the spiritual sense, as everything that happens to us has meaning in this realm.

The Bicycle
By E.M. Wilson
So a few days back I was talking with my cousin and somehow the topic of heaven came up. I told him that I want to see what the Saints see when they die- I want the Beatific Vision, which, just to put us all on the same page, is the direct communication of God to the individual person (ie heaven in full) and my cousin was like "ooohhhhhh no I could never be a saint."

Except A Man Be Born
By Mike Bugal
In preparing to write this story of my spiritual journey in, from and back to the Catholic Church my mind weighed several ways to begin this text. Being a fan of the works of Charles Dickens the first words that came to mind was the opening chapter of “David Copperfield”…”Chapter 1: I am born”.

Making A Diference
By Dr. Lin Weeks Wilder
To leave our rural valley in northern Nevada, we drive for about thirty minutes. Upon turning north on the freeway, after about fifteen minutes or so, we pass a bulletin board on the left asking about one person making a difference. The caption is written over a huge image of Nelson Mandela. The other day I stared at the huge bulletin board and thought about a conversation about that very subject

Be Willing to Forgive
By Sherry Kenner
In 1981 our Blessed Mother began appearing to a small group of children in the remote village of Kibeho. Mary and Jesus warned the children of the holocaust that would happen unless Rwandans opened their hearts to God and began loving one another. These prophetic visions came true in 1994.

Catholic vs Protestant paradigms - How we read Scripture
By De Maria
The Catholic Church teaches us to understand Scripture according to the Sacred Deposit, the Sacred Traditions, which Jesus established. Why? Because, Jesus Christ established a Church and commanded that Church to teach what He commanded. (Matt 28:19-20). As a result, the Catholic Church went about teaching orally.

A Love Affair with Moloch
By Karl Erickson
We’d be wise not to forget the stern warning within Leviticus 18:21. "Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molek, for you must not profane the name of your God. I am the LORD." Children hold a special place in the heart of God. “Let the little children come to me,” said Jesus. The reader is reminded of God's love and intimate knowledge of the unborn child ...

Why I Bring my Small Children to Mass
By Amanda Knapp
Every week my husband and I get our three little girls, ages, 7,4, and 2 ready for Mass. We pack them all in the minivan and we head off to sit in a church with three little girls for an hour. Some days, they are like angels. The 4 year old and the 7 year old are quiet in prayer, the 2 year old sits on our laps and flips through the books.

The World; Yesterday and Today--The Bible Covers It All
By Larry Peterson
As a cradle Catholic who went to twelve years of Catholic school 'waaaaay' back in the 50's and 60's, I can say without hesitation, my education in the Bible and about the Bible and of the Bible was almost non-existent. The Catechism with its nays & yays and 'right & wrong' dominated the conversation. However, over the past ten years or so I have come to honor and respect the Bible.

Not by any of the 5 Alones
By De Maria
Most of you have heard of faith alone and Scripture alone. But you would probably be surprised to find out that there are actually 5 Protestant doctrines to which they appended the word, “alone”. And all 5 are heresies.

Using Temptations To Our Advantage
By Lori Conklin
I remember the day I met my first truly holy person. Now, she would tell you she is anything BUT holy. She was to give a talk at the conclusion of our first Rachel's Vineyard Weekend Retreat. She was speaking on the topic of God's Abundant Mercy and Forgiveness. I thought that was an excellent choice given the flavor of the weekend.

You don't believe in Baptism?
By De Maria
Naaman didn't believe in Baptism either. When Elisha said to Naaman: 2 Kings 5: 10 Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. Naaman didn't believe that God could heal him by any water much less in the Jordan's waters saying: 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel?

I see a lot of articles on the (insert number) reasons people don’t go to their Catholic Church, so I thought it was time for an article on the seven reasons why I do go to church:

Musings on Bike-Riding While Listening to Jennifer Fulwiler
By Ana Braga-Henebry
So I was ready for a new book doing my evening bike rides, as I hold on to these late summer nights with a passion. South Dakota being the kind of state where frosts are common when the calendar has not yet turned to autumn.

Marriage in an age of Ashley Madison
By Faith-Full Writer
I saw a post recently from someone who criticized a woman's choice to stand by her husband after he was linked to the Ashley Madison scandal. (If you don't know, Ashley Madison is/was a website that, for a fee, enabled people to have an affair.)

Religious Freedom, Gay Marriage, and Kim Davis; Lessons from Kentucky
By Lorrie McNickle
I will admit that I have not followed the story of Kim Davis as closely as some of the other headlines bellowing from the current news outlets. I am convinced though that even on the surface there are some pretty significant lessons to be learned from this chronicle. It takes a lot of courage to face imprisonment for your beliefs and convictions. Freedom in a prized possession for us.

Well, I Told You So!!!
By Elizabeth Thomas
I woke up this morning, my back really sore and hurting and then the spasms hitting like lightening. It is hard to bend and to sit—OW BIG TIME! So, I hit the cold compresses, the meds, the back brace is on, the vibration used and I kept going. Animals were fed, and breakfast cooked. My husband said ‘what did you do, that caused your back to go out?’
