I was "Isadored" by Two Catholics and a Hebrew; It was Great*
By Larry Peterson
I never knew a Catholic/Christian named Isidore. I had always thought that the name, Isidore, was primarily a Hebrew/Jewish name. In fact, several years ago, when my cousin, Vicki, discovered who our mysterious, missing grandfather was, his name turned out to be Isidore. It proved my point; Isidore Schul was a Hebrew man from Krakow.

I was a Fatima Kid
By E.M. McCarthy
Today we take for granted that we have a relatively peaceful world. But not too long ago, during the Cold War, people lived with the fear a nuclear war would end creation. Not much could be done; or so we thought.

Michelangelo's masterpiece may have deeper implications on creation than you think
By Joby Provido
The Creation of Adam is probably the most recognized work of art in the Sistine Chapel, and probably in the entire art world. Basically, it is a fresco of Adam in a very relaxed position as if there is no life in him yet. Visually next to Adam is God with an outstretched finger just about to zap energy into him.

A Revert's Perspective
By Lisa Ponchak
It is no secret that my husband has struggled with deep regret over us leaving the Catholic Church and being away for 10 years. He has since worked through it and has forgiven himself, especially now that the Lord has restored him, and he is doing what he is passionate and gifted in. I on the other hand have not dealt with the same regret.

Longing for "Eternal Easter"
By Prof. Anthony Maranise, Obl.S.B.
Merely days ago, I graduated, at long last, with my Masters in Theology. Treasuring as I do all that I learned, the professors that taught me, and my classmates, all of whom became friends, the graduation itself, while welcomed, was also bittersweet in that it was an ending of a process and way-of-living I had grown accustomed to.

Jesus Ascended on the FIFTH day! Just by Accident?
By Scott Pauline
Jesus ascended into heaven on the FIFTH day (though Thursday is the FOURTH working day in modern times, THEOLOGICALLY it is the FIFTH day, since the FIRST day of God's Mythical Creation is SUNDAY, not Monday)

Why Mary Visits
By Sherry Kenner
Throughout the centuries there have been reported incidents of heavenly visits from Mary, the mother of God. Some of these apparitions have received church approval. An “apparition” is a supernatural appearance.

Metaphors of the Church
By Joby Provido
The Church is depicted as barque, a sheepfold, a cultivated vineyard, the building of God, and the bride of Christ. Oftentimes metaphors like these make it easier to understand a concept. Christ did it frequently with ideas he needed to explain in a way his listeners could understand.

Responding To Mary's Call At Fatima
By Bernice Pillart Dumitru
This year marks 100 years since amazing supernatural events took place in the small village of Fatima, Portugal. Three peasant children, Lucia Santos, Jacinta Marto and Francisco Marto were prepared in 1916 by an Angel, to experience six apparitions of the Virgin Mary on the 13th of the month from May through October, 1917.

Fatima - 100 Years Ago
By Bernice Pillart Dumitru
Europe was in the throes of a world war the like of which had never been seen. Untold suffering was afflicting every country involved. At the same time many countries in Europe were experiencing internal difficulties because of the spread of ideologies.

A Church for All Seasons
By Tanya Janoski
There are things about myself that I try to keep hidden, but my efforts are futile against those who know me all too well. We all have our weaknesses or ingrained prejudices that we are not very proud of. What is most astonishing is how we think we can somehow hide our weaknesses or prejudices from our heavenly Father.

Dogmas on Creation and Fall: The Church's Middle Road
By Scott Pauline
Pope Francis was not at all removing God from the equation when He said that evolution is true and that God did not wave a magic wand. He would not deny the Church's teachings.

The Road to Emmaus: Image of the Jewish Failure to Recognize Christ as Messiah?
By Scott Pauline
Christ’s Old Body and events of the Gospel before the Resurrection filled up and fulfilled all that is of the Old Covenant, the Laws, the history. At the Cross, His Body, and thereby all things Old, were put to death and abolished.

Pope Saint Symmachus, The Pope Who Almost Wasn't
By Debra Booton McCoy
Pope Symmachus is, unfortunately, more well known for the difficulty he had holding on to his reign than for the things he did to earn him the name "saint". He was alive during difficult times.

Teaching the Rosary and Getting Blessed Back
By Rose Cuervo
A man recently suicidal came to the adoration chapel and started ranting. The Lord, I felt, understood his pain. When his rant ended and he said, "You are right. Mary is real and we should honor her." He was/is, a Protestant but had been coming to our church thanks to the invitation of an outreach group many years back.

Are All Christian Religions Just "Window Dressing"?
By Nicholas LaBanca
With the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation coming up later this year, it’s sad to note that while great strides have been made in ecumenical outreach between the various Christian communities out there, there are still many things that divide us.
