Sunday Peace
By Katie Zalany
Sunday. It’s the Lord’s Day. A day for resting, relaxing, and experiencing the peace of Christ. Years ago, Sundays were often a day for catching up on work, preparing for the week ahead, shopping, or doing something fun. The only thing holy about Sundays was my obligatory trip to Mass, and it began to feel very hollow.

Why?
By Mariel Roersma
This week has a lot of people asking why. Why are there no answers? Why does so much hate and evil exist in our world? Why did so many innocent people lose their lives? Why do people need to be so afraid of raising children today? Why God?

Overcoming my sins and faults of my tongue
By Pam Spano
I read this great article entitled, “How to Overcome Sins and Faults of the Tongue,” by Sister Laus Gloria, O.C.D. In the article Sister is asked about her thoughts on the constant superficial chatter around her. Who would have thought that as adults we would still encounter the behavior of some people who are still acting like they are in high school?

Intro to the Eastern Catholic Churches Part IV: The Chaldean Rite
By Nicholas LaBanca
By now, many of us have come to realize that the liturgical traditions of the Catholic Church are rich and numerous. Following an introduction on all 23 of the Eastern Catholic Churches, we’ve already delved into the Armenian and Alexandrian Rites of the Catholic Church. Today, we’ll take a look at the East Syrian (or Chaldean) Rite, which houses two more sui iuris (that is, particular) Churches.

Pope Francis--The Foremost Ambassador of Humility
By Larry Peterson
Pope Francis, without trying and by just being who God made him to be, wears this mantle of humility without fanfare, showmanship, pretentiousness or anything that might be self-serving in any manner.

Life with Jesus
By Norma Elaine Robertson
Life with Jesus is an amazing and incredible journey. There's purpose in everything and He is miraculously simple in revealing His love to me. Nothing is ever wasted or unwanted. It's myself that chooses to think that He will never love me, or that He will punish me, when I do something wrong. God is love and mercy.

Unlikely Biblical Heroes; You Can Be One Too
By Charlie Johnston
I've said this many times; we are not called to be spectators to our faith, we are called to be participants. Each of us has a charism or gift of the Holy Spirit, received in the Sacrament of Baptism and strengthened by Confirmation, to help build Christ's Church, and with it, God's Kingdom.

Inconceivable! The Ongoing Dissolution of the Christian Faith
By Adam Crawford
Only 500 years ago it would have been absolutely inconceivable to think of any individual Christian simply going out and creating their own church. Christ had already founded a Church on, and through, His apostles. This Church was called by His name - Christian - and it was known as the Church Catholic, i.e. the Christian Church universal.

False Sentimentality in and for Orlando
By Lorrie McNickle
Something horrible happened June 12, 2016, the worst mass shooting in our nation’s history. It happened at a gay bar/nightclub in the city of Orlando. This horrible event happened at a place that would not be considered wholesome or even mainstream. It was a club that celebrated homosexuality.

Orlando was terrible, but what can I do?
By Troy Kroening
Many times in our lives, we are faced with tragedies. Some close to home and some not. Especially in the cases of tragedies not close to home, we wonder what could we have done? After all, we are so far away to have any affect. We remain appalled, but do little to nothing about it confused by what we could have done anyways. But, we can do something.

Blessed Items Cannot Be Sold (Note: Blessings Cannot Be Sold)
By Susan Burtka
Years ago, I happened to stop at a local yard sale in search of something completely different than what I carried away. As I browsed the items scattered about the tables in the yard, I noticed a box filled with religious articles. My eyes were immediately drawn to an extra large Rosary.

Islam, Its Place in Salvation History, and its Theological Nature
By Scott Pauline
What one could say is that the proper place of Islam in salvation history is as the religion that is completely anti-Trinitarian and anti-Christological while yet retaining the shell of the Gospel. When you follow these implications, it works out all the deficiencies of the religion.

The Witness of Emmett Till
By Mark McCurdy
Emmett Till. Do you know his name? Do you know this person? Have you seen his face? Perhaps… perhaps not. Until a few short years ago neither had I. But we should. Emmett Till is credited with being one of the most significant persons in the Civil Rights Movement.
