The Effects of Matrimony
By Rob Agnelli
In her excellent book, Forming Intentional Disciples, Sherry Weddell quotes some alarming statistics regarding the Church in the United States. One in particular bears mention and that is the number of marriages celebrated in the Church has decreased by 60 percent since 1972.

Why 27 Books of the New Testament?
By William Hemsworth
There are many things that may come to an individual’s mind when it comes to sacred scripture. Some may ask why there are so many translations. Some may wonder if the Bible as we know it fell from the sky at Pentecost. However many have questions on how we have the books we have. For sure it was long and arduous process, but it was one guided by the Holy Spirit and the Church.

On Being Catholic...
By Carlos Espinosa
It took becoming a father, in my forties, to start getting interested in my faith. And, after a "reversion," during a spiritual retreat in 2006, I began to learn everything I could about the Church, so I could pass it on to my children.

What are your opportunities to love?
By Troy Kroening
We are all given opportunities to love. Some opportunities can be easy to respond with love and others can be quite difficult. Every interaction with another person is an opportunity to love. The other person can affect how easy or difficult it is, but also our beginning demeanor does as well. Let’s look at Mother Teresa as an example.

What's Wrong with Femininity Anyway?
By Stephanie Losoya
I have always been fairly quiet online about feminism because it's such a convoluted concept. I mean at face value, it seems like a positive thing, right?

Nonprofit Leadership: This Catholic's Cross and Mission
By Melanie R. Cameron
I can't stop the waves of successes and failures. I can pray the Serenity Prayer and the Litany of Humility; I can mean these things in my heart, but the challenges still come, the reality of failure, the excitement of success... why would I not work on temperance and humility more? Why does it not feel to me like I'm improving? How can I respond to God's call to ministry when I am so limited?

Within Our Reach
By Carleigh Lutz
Oftentimes, we find ourselves feeling inclined to do something great, to go out and change the world. It’s an urging that no amount of time will satisfy, and it feels sometimes as though we will burst for fear of not making a difference. We feel the call to love, because Love lives within us.

I need you to know that I fully believe it. Abba, the King of Creation is MY daddy! It has taken me what feels like an eternity not only to learn this, but to fully believe it in my heart.

Defending Life
By Michelle Watkins
I personally cringe each time I hear an alleged-Catholic politician make an endorsement for abortion. We've all heard them say "I'm personally against abortion, but I don't want to take that choice away from others." A 'true', devoted Catholic knows the grave error of making such a statement. It is a condemnation on many levels.

Treasures In Heaven
By Carol Ann Chybowski
Recently I spoke with a friend about spiritual matters, and one of the concepts we discussed was simplicity. Simplicity in thought, word and deed, as well as simplicity in lifestyle.

Dynamic vs Lukewarm Catholic - an obscure reason?
By Linda Kracht
Have you ever been introduced as being a really good Catholic? Perhaps you have heard similar introductions and been discomforted by the words that felt more like faulty praise — and for many different reasons. False praise always sends a mixed message that nobody knows how to interpret.

Wisdom of this world is foolishness in the eyes of God. (1Cor 3:19)
By Mary Rivers
My life has been blessed by being born a fraternal twin - giving me a sense of identity, of strength, (2 for 1), a unity of shared joy.

Transplanted For Our Own Good
By Rosemary Bogdan
Some years ago I planted a dwarf hibiscus (Actually Hibiscus X Ruby Dot, I believe), also called Rosemallow, along my front sidewalk. Dwarf should mean small, right? I thought it might grow to be a foot or two. Well. It became a good three feet tall and probably had a diameter of about the same. It sprawled over the walkway, blocking a good portion of it.

Bruce Springsteen, Tom Morello, and Dorothy Day
By Ross Decker
I recently had the chance to see Bruce Springsteen perform in his natural habitat, at MetLife Stadium in the famous swamps of New Jersey. It was the middle of the string of concerts where he broke his own record for longest American performance on each night. I was there for the middle one.

Part II of An Open Letter to Catholic Young Adults
By Marie Murphy Duess
Recently I wrote an article about how confused young Catholic adults must be when considering their religion. Deluged with secular influences—in the media, in their universities, in their careers, and in politics—they must be shaking their heads and wondering who is right? Why should I be a Catholic in a world that clearly finds Catholicism contrary to present cultural views?
