The sacraments are meant to make us more like Christ
By Joby Provido
The Catechism states that sacraments are “efficacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us.” (CCC §1131) It means that with the signs (of words, water, oil, bread, wine, etc.) grace is truly given to us. It also means that we are being given “divine life.”

I am God personified
By Victor S E Moubarak
Jesus often taught people to refer to God as the Father. And He often said that He is the Son of God. This must have scandalised the Jews and their elders, the Pharisees and Sadducees, who crucified Him for the blasphemy of saying He is the Son of God.

You Can't Define the Holy Spirit
By E.M. McCarthy
It’s the physical worldview that has things all wrong. We think we can live forever, we think we can do whatever we want (within reason), we think of our bodies’ needs first, and we think intelligence is the ticket for success. Perhaps this simplifies things, but the overall point is we live in a “show me” era.

If it was a crime to be a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?
By Troy Kroening
Being a Christian is not about following a great idea. No, it is about following a man named Jesus, who at the same time is God. So, how do we identify a Christian? Jesus charged His disciples to be light and salt.

Day 30 – Peter and the Keys
By David Vermont
First, the Pharisees and Scribes come to Jesus seeking a sign. Jesus says that no sign will be given to “an evil and unfaithful generation”. He says that the only sign will be the sign of Jonah, which is of course Jonah spending the night in the belly of a whale, which corresponds to Jesus dying and being placed in the tomb only to be resurrected.

Pursuing God's Call
By Mariel Roersma
God's different in a way. He calls us each to something. But it's not like our phone rings and we pick it up. Sometimes we feel what He is calling us to early in life but sometimes it takes a lifetime. The question is, once we find out what God wants us to do, how do we about pursuing that?

Talking the Talk is Simple, Walking the Walk-Not So Much
By Lorrie McNickle
It is pretty simple actually, and all laid out right before our eyes. It all has been since the very beginning too. The beginning of what, you might ask? Well, from the beginning of everything. You see, God is our Creator, he made us for him, so that he could love us and we could be with him enveloped in his eternal beatitude and glory for all time.

Sinner's Story - It Could Be Worse
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
It is consoling to know that when we are discouraged and overwhelmed by our own spiritual weakness and ineptitude, God isn’t discouraged with us. It is then that we should say, “I can do everything through him who gives me strength” (Phil 4:13).

I was "Isadored" by Two Catholics and a Hebrew; It was Great*
By Larry Peterson
I never knew a Catholic/Christian named Isidore. I had always thought that the name, Isidore, was primarily a Hebrew/Jewish name. In fact, several years ago, when my cousin, Vicki, discovered who our mysterious, missing grandfather was, his name turned out to be Isidore. It proved my point; Isidore Schul was a Hebrew man from Krakow.
