Robots can't sin. That's why they would make lousy priests.
By Anthony S. Layne
The program I use to compose and arrange music has a tool which will take a passage from one instrument and create accompaniment for other instruments out of it. Arrangement is a complex task which can turn a simple folk tune into a lush orchestral symphony or reduce a well-known classical piece to a New Orleans jazz combo (as Harry Connick, Jr. did with “Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairies”).

Living Liturgically Part 5: Living the Feasts
By Katie Zalany
It was September 15th and I was filled with sorrow this day. God led me into intense reflection and prayer on my own deep wounds and suffering, and a long meditation on how my suffering and carrying of my own cross was united to Christ's.

The Prodigal Son - Another Perspective

The Journey
By Victor S E Moubarak
Let me take you on a journey which you will surely make. One day. You don't know when, but for certain you will make that journey. We may not know the day or the hour, and we may hope it is a long way off, but for certainty, one day, we will all make that journey.

There's a Wound Behind the Wound
By Katie Zalany
Have you ever tried to heal a sin in your life only to find yourself struggling over and over again? I often heard a phrase "Our pain won't leave us until it teaches us what it's meant to teach us." I've found that this carries a great deal of truth.

Living The Worthy Life- Duty And The Government
By Michael Cunningham
As we head into what has to be one of the most important elections of our lifetime in 2020, it would be great to reflect a little on our rights. Many of today’s politicians are quick to tell you that rights come from the government. Their idea of Government is that is huge one stop provider our needs and guarantor of our rights. Is this the case now?

Living Liturgically Part 4: Being Fed on the Sacraments
By Katie Zalany
I have found over the years that these two Sacraments consistently feed me: Confession reconciles me to God and heals me of my sin and brokenness, and the Eucharist feeds me each day and helps sustain me on my Christian life journey. It feeds the empty pockets of my being with Christ.

In Our Thoughts and Prayers
By Carol Monaco
Lately it seems that I have been saying “You’re in my thoughts and prayers” a lot more often and the list of prayers and petitions is getting longer and longer. Sometimes I wonder: do these thoughts and prayers make any difference? It is so easy to get discouraged, especially when the news of the day is so bad!

Finding a Point of Mutual Agreement?

Our Ability to Suffer

Suffer for Expiation of sin

Tonight, as with many other evenings, I sat in a very hot shower allowing the water to beat upon my feet which were in turmoil with intense pain. The reason is the Neuropathy that plagues me, and my feet have received the largest amount of relentless throbbing.

Living Liturgically Part 3: Living the Mass Readings
By Katie Zalany
For several years, I've been reading and praying with the daily Mass readings everyday first thing in the morning after I pray the morning Liturgy of the Hours. Usually, there's a word, phrase or challenge that speaks to me which I pray with and reflect on its meaning in my life.

Daily Mass
By Mary Rivers
Each day we commit small hurtful offenses against others, which do not reflect love of Christ. As disciples, we wish to throw off these transgressions which prevent us from entering the Narrow Gate. We persevere, going to daily Mass, begging for grace from Our Savior, maybe not realizing the Mass itself has the same formula in its rites as does Confession.
