I am JoAnne Hudek-Dole. I include my maiden name to give acknowledgment to my dad’s name. I was born in the early 1960’s and raised in a strong, Catholic home by two loving parents whose marriage formed my first ideas of God’s love and the love that a man and a woman share in living out their vocation of married people. Thackery once said that “Mother is the name for God in the hearts of little children,” and I can attest to that. I was educated in Catholic grade school and high school, along with my five brothers and sisters. Sadly, my formative years of Catholic education were marred by the skewed teachings that came from the misinterpretation of Vatican II. Luckily, I had my parents to guide me. Only one of my siblings left our Catholic faith. It is with this precious brother in mind that I write, that I pray daily. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Nicholas, for the past 26 years and we have four amazing children. I have been a registered nurse for the past 30 years and am currently working in hospice care. I am a musician and cantor at Mass, and student of Scripture and Apologetics. I am a sister, crazy aunt, and daughter in my large cradle Catholic family.
