Does the Bible have tornadoes?
Before we get started, check out my previous article, here; If you want to make God laugh, my latest on Locals, Muslims and Christians worship the same God (I'm sure that's not at all controversial), and, remember that I wrote a book; Elisabeth and the other man (paperback), Elisabeth and the other man (ebook)
I have no doubt that that I've written about this topic before, at least, I hope that I have.
I'm pretty sure that I've written about Jesus's divinity before, but, when you've written over 250 articles, it gets hard to keep up.
“For let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in likeness of men, and in habit found as a man. He humbled himself become obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross: for which cause God hath also exalted him, and hath given him a name which is above all names: That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth, and under the earth:
And that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father”. (Philippians 2:5-11)
Think about this. God took the form of man. God became man (see: John 1:1-14). He died on the cross to forgive YOUR sins.
He sanctified you, he redeemed you, and saved you from the corruption and ugliness of the world.
He didn't have to do this.
He CHOSE to do this.
Theologians argue whether or not the Crucifixion had to happen if there was no fall.
I am on the side that, no it didn't.
But, since the fall did happen, it was fitting that the crucifixion of Christ happened.
In the Byzantine liturgy, we say, “Without undergoing change, you became man”.
God remains the same, now, yesterday, and forever.
God became man, and died for you.
The second person of the Most Holy Trinity, voluntarily take the form of a servant, and died for you.
Live for him.
