Doing God's work

It's a very lofty goal to accomplish all in this life God has in mind for us. I can't even make a list of all the things God wants for us here on earth. There are too many places to start and too many paths to cover! But how do we know when we're doing what God has in mind for us? God's mind is so vastly different from our own and we all know, His ways are not our ways! So what tells us when we've got it right? Do we ever really have it right?!

Since I was a little girl I've wanted a family. I've wanted animals to care for and love until God needed them back. I've wanted a husband to love, care for, and have as a partner through life. I did briefly pray about becoming a nun, but the answer to that was "no." So I was blessed with my husband and our three kids and two dogs, four cats, a Guinea pig and two horses! We have a few dogs and horses waiting for us in heaven as well. We've been able to discern (we hope) God's plan for us. There have been many hard times. Times when people questioned "oh you're pregnant again??" But that's what we have been called to do, raise a family. So why wouldn't we?

Also since I was little, I have wanted a horse farm. I have wanted to make a difference in the horse world. Caring for horses, offering a loving, caring and safe place for these amazing creatures God has asked me to help Him with. Luckily my husband understands all of this. He nods and smiles and says "sure!" When I tell him my plans for our horses. God knew what He was doing when He gave me my husband!

Chasing our dreams, for us, is the same as doing God's will. Why would He give us certain passions and dreams if that's not what we were meant to do?

So, chase your dreams. Be passionate about your career! Yes you should have a job to pay your bills, but let that also lead you to your calling! The Lord works in mysterious ways, and His ways are not our ways! Trust in His ways. Call on Him often and with passion!

"Seek and ye shall find. Knock and the door will be opened."

Seek the Lord.
