Saint Adrian of Canterbury: Scholar, Teacher, and Patron Saint of Soldiers
A Catholic nonprofit focused on combating pornography addiction and strengthening families is set to host its first annual fundraising gala this weekend, with organizers inviting supporters nationwide to participate both in person and via livestream.
Those interested can register for the livestream here.
The event, organized by Road to Purity, marks the official launch of a new initiative aimed at supporting families and addressing what organizers describe as a growing cultural and spiritual crisis surrounding sexual addiction.
A National Campaign Focused on Families
The gala will introduce the organization’s new “Restoring the Family” campaign, which seeks to expand programs for parents, clergy, and individuals struggling with addiction. Organizers hope the initiative will support the growth of resources and outreach efforts aimed at strengthening families and helping individuals find healing.
The event will feature dinner, auctions, and personal testimonies, along with keynote remarks from Nick Smitley, a Catholic husband, father, producer, drummer, and founder of Vermillion Code Productions. Smitley, who once worked in the Hollywood entertainment scene with connections to celebrity culture and the Playboy Mansion, is expected to share his personal journey of conversion and renewal.
Episcopal Support for the Mission
The organization’s work has received affirmation and support from Catholic leaders.
“I am grateful to have Road to Purity in my archdiocese. I gladly recommend Road to Purity and its resources,” said Archbishop Emeritus of Denver Samuel J. Aquila, S.T.L.
Livestream Expands Reach Beyond Colorado
While the gala takes place at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, organizers have emphasized accessibility through a livestream option, allowing supporters across the country to participate in the event remotely.
The livestream is expected to include keynote remarks, testimonials, and the unveiling of a new, not-yet-disclosed initiative designed to help parents better guide and protect their children.
Addressing a Growing Crisis
Road to Purity has built its mission around confronting pornography addiction and promoting what it describes as a holistic path to healing—addressing spiritual, emotional, and behavioral dimensions of addiction. Its programs have reportedly been adopted by more than 900 parishes nationwide.
The organization also frames its work within a broader cultural and spiritual context, citing concerns about the impact of sexual content on marriages, families, and individual well-being.
A Call to Action
Organizers describe the gala not only as a fundraising effort but as a rallying point for a wider movement focused on renewal of family life and faith.
The livestream is open to the public, with organizers encouraging participation from individuals, families, and clergy interested in supporting the initiative or learning more about its mission.
