A Devotional: Seeking God During Suffering
By Dr. Anne DeSantis
In my own life, I have had experienced hurdles which have tested my faith in people. Our hearts can be “brought low,” as the Psalm reads, during trials with others.

Supernatural CPR: An Anamnestic View into the Meaning of Christ's Final Breath

Combating Church Scandal with Ancient Intimacy
By Rexcrisanto Delson
Much has been said about the most seismic scandal that has ever hit the Catholic Church in America. Last June, Theodore McCarrick, a retired cardinal and former archbishop of Washington, was removed from the ministry after being accused of sexually assaulting a teenager for years.

A Devotional: Dealing with Difficult People
By Dr. Anne DeSantis
When we are happy and feel accepted and loved, life often feels positive. When we feel alone, rejected and insecure, life feels challenging. Faith is not about feelings; we always have to confront difficulties. During these moments, it may seem as if we are all alone. It may even seem to us God doesn’t care.

Reading the Bible- A Helpful Habit
By Victoria Pangia
I know we read the Bible at Mass every Sunday and for some of us at daily Mass, but with this practice are we really saturating ourselves in the Word of God like the Bible suggests?

The Battles Lines Have Been Drawn
By Lorrie McNickle
We really are at war. If we fail to realize that and do not arm ourselves against the risks of these battles, then it is very possible that Satan will find a way to take us down. I have been watching and reading with horror about the Catholic school boys from Covington that were the victims of such an attack.

How We All Can Be Instruments of Healing
By Katie Zalany
About a month and a half ago, I attended a healing prayer service with a friend of mine. It was a beautiful evening of praying over the suffering in our midst and sharing time with them in the presence of the Eucharist. It made me think about how all of us play a role in helping to heal one another.

Turning to God in Temptation & Trial
By Katie Zalany
For many years I've struggled with turning to God during desolation, temptation or trial. Most people do, I'm finding. In fact, many times, I've mistakenly turned the opposite way - to something I thought would fill the need or console me.

I FOUND IT!!!
By Elizabeth Thomas
Rather--God led me to find it! For three days I searched high and low, under and in between---well everywhere for my MP3 player that had my favorite music to listen to recorded on it. It has been the mover and the groover, the pusher when I need pushing: music coming to my ears over that player as I exercise. It came up missing on Wednesday when I went to exercise and could not find it.

Where Will Islam Take Us?
By Kevin J. Banet
I led the work crew into the chapel. A broken appliance awaited their skill. Must have been a heating unit or something - I don’t remember. As always, I genuflected before the Blessed Sacrament. Two of the workers, Hispanics, did the same. Then the third man, the leader, starting talking excitedly about his religion, Islam.

A Word To Our Shepherds about Betrayal
By Susan Skinner
I was recently blindsided by something that left me momentarily feeling exposed, even betrayed. Because I know God is in all things, I took it to him to try to process what happened. I knew clearly I was supposed to meditate on Jesus’ betrayal. I did that for several days, and this morning God spoke. He told me I was looking at it wrong.
