Blessed Maria Bolognesi; Mystic, Stigmatist, Visionary, and Victim of the Demonic
By Larry Peterson
On October 21, 1924, an out-of-wedlock child was born and given the name, Maria. At the time, Maria was not assigned a surname. That was because her birth father, (himself an illegitimate child) refused to wed Maria’s mother and left her. Fortunately for Maria, the most influential person in young girl’s life would be her grandma, Cornetto Cesira.

The Most Important Question in the World

THANK YOU, MOM AND DAD!
By Elizabeth Thomas
For some wonderful reason this past Holy Week, I was made very aware of the treasure that we have in Catholic Faith. My eyes were also opened up to the fact that had my parents not raised me in the faith---I would never have been blessed with the gift of our Church and all that she teaches and embraces.

Lord, Have Divine Mercy on Us
By Birgit Jones
The true meaning of the word mercy is often misunderstood and misused. Far from indicating that all bets are off and you are free to do whatever you please – without repercussions – true mercy has ramifications that benefit the immortal soul.

America Needs Fatima Hosts Second Annual Nationwide Rosary Crusades to Pray for Renewed Recognition of Traditional Marriage
By Tim Hatch
It might not have been a big crowd, but the cause was monumental. Thirteen adults and seven children from across the Diocese of Corpus Christi, Texas gathered on March 17 on the grounds of St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Corpus Christi to pray for a restoration of traditional marriage and family life in our nation

A Complainer or a Contributor Art Thou?
By Fr. Andrew Kooi
I sometimes wonder whether some of us are complainers or contributors. It seems easy and convenient to complain and demand many things from the church, especially where one’s convenience or comfort is at stake, and some even seem to have a sense of entitlement to various services and assistance that the church, in their mind, is expected to offer.

There is a 54 day novena being prayed for Ireland to keep in place its pro-life constitutional amendment. It began on Easter and will continue up until the day the people of Ireland go to the polls to cast their votes.

Are the Widowed Still Married or No longer Married? The Widowed have Different Viewpoints
By Larry Peterson
I have gone from being a husband to being a widower; twice. My first wife, Loretta, died of cancer in 2003. My second wife, Marty, died from Alzheimer’s disease in March of 2017. What is interesting is how we, the widowed, perceive our widowhood. I have discovered that some who have been widowed, both men and women, still consider themselves married. Some, like me, do not. Why is that?

Truly an extraordinary ministry: I am an EMHC and I am honored to be one
By Larry Peterson
I wish to clarify something right away. I am NOT a Eucharistic Minister. I am an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC). Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is the proper term for the people involved in this ministry. The term, “Eucharist” is never to be in their title. That term is reserved for the priest alone. (see Redemptionis Sacramentum).

Did Jesus Appear to His Mom after He Rose from the Dead? The Gospels never mention it.
By Larry Peterson
The gospel read at the Easter Vigil is from Mark 16: 1-7. In this gospel, Mary Magdalene and Salome have gone to the tomb to anoint Him. This is when the angel appears to them, and tells them He has risen and to go and tell His disciples.

He Is Risen; He is Risen Indeed!
By Bill Dunn
This week we celebrate Easter Sunday. Alleluia! Christ is risen! Alleluia! I am amazed by people who truly do NOT believe Jesus rose from the dead, and yet are still convinced Christianity is a wonderful religion. These folks believe that Jesus taught some terrific things about social and moral issues, and if we all would just follow those teachings, the world would be a much better place.

Is Ignorance A Sin?
By Victor S E Moubarak
Years ago I knew a man who did not believe in God. He was the kindest, most generous and nicest person you could wish to meet. Always smiling and helping others where he could. He just did not believe in God. He did not do it out of malice or rebellion or in any way in enmity with God. He just lived life as it came and did not venture into religion of any kind.

Did you Know that there are 24 Individual Catholic Churches in union with Rome?
By Larry Peterson
The proper way to refer to the Roman Catholic Church under the jurisdiction of Rome is simply, the Latin Church. That is because there are millions of Catholics who are not part of the Roman Catholic Church. But they belong to THE Catholic Church and are subject to the Pope.

Death is Not Natural
By Bill Dunn
While my father lay dying recently, I tried to console myself by saying, “Well, he lived a long, full life, and now death is just a natural part of life.”

Gun Control or Virtues?
By Rexcrisanto Delson
All three. Unfortunately, we are not hearing much, if anything, about the latter two. Instead, we see and hear one side vehemently promulgating their anti-gun agenda, and the other side steadfastly defending the 2nd Amendment. Regardless of which side of the gun control debate you are on, it's clear we cannot focus solely on gun control because guns, on their own, do not kill people.

Time Split in Two
By E.M. McCarthy
The death and resurrection of Jesus split time in two and began a religion many powerful people tried to stop. The first attempts to stop Christianity began with physical torture and death. Early Christians bought the “field” that contained the pearl of great price with the most precious currency they had, their own blood.
