'Catholic Vote"
By Lavinia Theodoli Spirito
What exactly is a “Catholic Vote”? In order to be ‘Catholic’, a vote needs to be cast according to the beliefs of the Catholic Church, otherwise it’s a ‘this is what sounds good to me’ vote. To dress it up post facto, as a Catholic vote based on some nebulous feelings of affiliation, in order to appeal to other voting blocks is not honest.

The Evangelization Imperative
By Lavinia Theodoli Spirito
The New Evangelization depends entirely on a New Pentecost. Only with a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit will the Church rediscover her missionary dimension. This Evangelization is necessary, as long as those within and those without the Church don’t appear to be seeking God and trying to do His will and follow the light of their consciences.

Has Secularism Conquered the St. Patrick's Day Parade? Cardinal Dolan Should Clarify Church Teaching
By Larry Peterson
We are up to our waists in the muck of secular quicksand and, slowly but surely, it is trying its best to suck us all deeper into its godless abyss. This insidious secularism has permeated so much of our lives, it has become the norm for many, especially the Millennials

Exaltation of the Holy Cross
By Renee Oania
This weekend was a great Mass of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. What caught my attention in my parish was the cross in the Church, of Jesus Christ hanging and below his feet was a red cloth draped down to the floor. Also, the priest wore a red vestment, and the deacon and altar servers had red on them, too.

Salem Matti Kourk: Hated and Murdered by ISIS; Loved by God and His Mom
By Larry Peterson
I guess there is nothing like the shocking beheading of a live, innocent, helpless person by gutless, yellow-bellied devil lovers dressed in black pajamas to garner world attention. The high-profile, barbaric murders of James Foley and Steven Sotloff have done just that. Their murders have been emblazoned across the print headlines and media air waves giving Satan's favorite "crew",

SATAN: the Supreme Commander of ISIS
By Larry Peterson
At 12:30 p.m. on August 31, 1939, Adolf Hitler made a decision. He issued the order that was to plunge the entire world into its bloodiest war ever: This is the order that started World War II

Seeing God Through People…
By Renee Oania
The morning started by going to a Food Bank and sorting and organizing cans on the shelves, as organizing and cleaning is a strength that I have and I acknowledge. In the afternoon, I went to my parish and helped the Sisters who are involved with the Religious Education Classes (First and Second Year of Communion). It was hard work, but in the end, I felt rewarded and great inside.

Mary is the Queen of Heaven
By Al Vargo
Mary as Queen of Heaven is a very Biblical teaching. Remember, under Jewish law, it was the King's mother who was the Queen of the kingdom, not his wife because while a king could have many wives (Solomon have several hundred)--he only had one mother.

Sharing Your Gifts to Bring People to Jesus
By Father Adaly Rosado, Jr.
I am preaching about the need of using our gifts in order to bring Jesus to the people. In the video link above Sister Cristina does just that, with her rendition of Alicia Key's "No One."

"Hey Atheists--Why can't You Leave Us Deists Alone?"
By Larry Peterson
The FFRF (a snappy little acronym for the "Freedom From Religion Foundation") was in the news again. Their latest inane protest demanding the U.S. Navy get rid of all Bibles at guest hotels had been granted. NEXCOM (a pronounceable acronym for "Navy Exchange Service Command") decided in favor of FFRF, and agreed to remove Bibles from 34 Navy locations and 24,000 Navy Gateway Inns and Suites

A Breath of Fresh Air (A Review of "The Identical")
By Karl Erickson
It’s hard to find good family movies these days when gratuitous sex and violence are the norm, and family appropriate entertainment is often of inferior quality. When I discover a family friendly and artfully done movie, I want to share the news with the world. That’s why I was so excited to enjoy an advanced screening of City of Peace’s new motion picture, The Identical.

Send Us The Gift of Peace
By Connie Beckman
This is the time for all Christians to come together to pray and to fast for those who are being persecuted and slaughtered in the war torn parts of our world. God truly is the refuge of the poor and humble when evildoers are oppressing them. We cry out to the Lord that the time of their rescue would come quickl

The Servants of Satan Laugh as They Murder Christian Children~~We Cannot Continue to Stand Idly By
By Larry Peterson
There was a photo of a child, actually a baby. She was maybe a year old, maybe a month or two older. Wearing a pink and white stocking hat and a sweater to match, she was sitting on the ground surrounded by dirt and rocks. Her beautiful round face was facing upward, and her big round eyes were looking at the men who would, in the next few moments, become her executioners.

Depravity in Oklahoma---The Ultimate Denigration of Catholicism; The "black mass"
By Larry Peterson
We Catholics have a prayer that we recite and it is directed to St. Michael the Archangel. Pope Leo XIII wrote this prayer back in 1886 and it was recited virtually every day at all Low Masses from that time until the late 1960s. Then the Vatican II reforms began to be implemented and the prayer was more or less discontinued although it was still recited at different liturgical functions.
