The World; Yesterday and Today--The Bible Covers It All
By Larry Peterson
As a cradle Catholic who went to twelve years of Catholic school 'waaaaay' back in the 50's and 60's, I can say without hesitation, my education in the Bible and about the Bible and of the Bible was almost non-existent. The Catechism with its nays & yays and 'right & wrong' dominated the conversation. However, over the past ten years or so I have come to honor and respect the Bible.

Not by any of the 5 Alones
By De Maria
Most of you have heard of faith alone and Scripture alone. But you would probably be surprised to find out that there are actually 5 Protestant doctrines to which they appended the word, “alone”. And all 5 are heresies.

Love and Mercy
By Norma Elaine Robertson
Eucharist so many times with no real understanding of what was going on, and when God did reveal some understanding, then I cried and the only thing I could think of was, "Jesus loves me. Jesus forgives me."

Focus on God
By Victor S E Moubarak
A man goes to the doctor's and said that his body hurts wherever he touches it. "Impossible!" says the doctor. "Show me." The man took his finger, pushed on his left shoulder and screamed, then he pressed his elbow and screamed even more. He touched his knee and screamed in agony; likewise he pushed on his ankle and cried loudly. Everywhere he touched made him scream.

With Pope Francis visiting the United States, there are likely more people wondering what Catholics actually believe about the Pope. Here is a brief summary. #1 – He is the Successor of Peter. When Jesus Christ established his Church, he appointed Simon to lead it.

Using Temptations To Our Advantage
By Lori Conklin
I remember the day I met my first truly holy person. Now, she would tell you she is anything BUT holy. She was to give a talk at the conclusion of our first Rachel's Vineyard Weekend Retreat. She was speaking on the topic of God's Abundant Mercy and Forgiveness. I thought that was an excellent choice given the flavor of the weekend.

During the day, do you find time to eat and drink? Do you find time to chat with friends and relatives? Do you find time to watch your favourite TV programme? Most probably you do, and by the end of the day, you woul

Atheists' Objections to Evidence for God's Existence, Part 5
By Bob Hunt
Can the scientific method be useful in measuring the effects of God on the world? If a miraculous healing is claimed, can science be useful in verifying the healing? Can scientific inquiry verify that the universe had a beginning, or the cosmological constants that so often mystify adherents of the anthropic principle? Of course!

Why Me, Lord?
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
A newspaper reporter phoned in to his editor a story about an empty truck that rolled down a hill and smashed into a house. The editor was unimpressed, rejecting the item as too insignificant to be a news item. “It’s curious that you’re so disinterested,” said the reporter. “It was your house.”

You don't believe in Baptism?
By De Maria
Naaman didn't believe in Baptism either. When Elisha said to Naaman: 2 Kings 5: 10 Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. Naaman didn't believe that God could heal him by any water much less in the Jordan's waters saying: 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel?

How Well Do You Know Jesus?
By Nina Rizzo
You’ve been friends forever. You know everything there is to know about your friend. Nothing you could ever learn would surprise you. While at the beach this summer with friends, we looked at each other and counted the number of years we had known one another – some 5, 10, 15, 20, and others a whole lifetime!

Where Are You, Church?
By Mary Ann Gambill
Aaron is sharing with Sollie his letters and his pumpkin stickers. He loves without qualifying. Seeing love in my home, struggling to see it in the world. Where is the Church? I still can't seem to write anything remotely publishable. My heart is hurting for refugees washing up on shores, Christians being beheaded and the deafening absence of Christians. How have we lost our identity?

Musings on Bike-Riding While Listening to Jennifer Fulwiler
By Ana Braga-Henebry
So I was ready for a new book doing my evening bike rides, as I hold on to these late summer nights with a passion. South Dakota being the kind of state where frosts are common when the calendar has not yet turned to autumn.

Marriage in an age of Ashley Madison
By Faith-Full Writer
I saw a post recently from someone who criticized a woman's choice to stand by her husband after he was linked to the Ashley Madison scandal. (If you don't know, Ashley Madison is/was a website that, for a fee, enabled people to have an affair.)
