Day 36 –the Parable of the Servants in the Vineyard
By David Vermont
This is always one of the hardest parables for me. Jesus tells the parable of the workers hired to work in a vineyard. Some are hired early in the morning, others at noon; some others with only three hours left and some are even hired in the last hour of the day. Yet those who work only 1 hour get paid the same wages as those who worked all day.

Think You Can't Be Used By God? Think Again
By Katie Zalany
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the early apostles. They all were regular, average, and imperfect people commissioned to bring the good news. They were a lot like you and I. They had day jobs, families, and one day, Jesus threw a wrench in their plans and asked them to follow Him and make disciples of all nations. They accepted the tall order.

Faith and Reason
By Ralph Hathaway
Many saints have searched for an understanding of God, His creation, and His existence for ever, before the world as we know it ever existed. Two that come to my mind are Augustine and Aquinas, both of whom sought to understand the workings and complete intervention of His Holy Spirit within the realm of creation and all that it entails.

Day 35 – A Word on Works
By David Vermont
Today we see Jesus asked directly, “What GOOD DEED must I DO, to have eternal life?” Jesus does NOT answer, “Don’t worry, you are saved by faith alone.” Jesus says you must keep the commandments and when you have done that you must do more. Thus, Jesus identifies salvation as a process. A process of perfecting yourself over the course of your life.

Ignorance Is Not Bliss
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
A priggish little old lady inquiring about a European tour was told by the travel agent that one particular tour included the famous Oberammergau Passion Play. Misconstruing the word "passion" she indignantly exclaimed, "I'm tired of all this sex stuff; and now it's even featured as a travel highlight! Shame on you!" With that, she stormed out of the office.

Doubting God's Love
By Victor S E Moubarak
Father Ignatius sat in his favourite armchair next to the roaring log fireplace holding a cup of hot chocolate drink and enjoying a football game on TV. Mrs Davenport, the housekeeper, entered the large room in the Parish House and said that there is someone outside wanting to see the priest urgently.

When people think of love in the Bible, the famous Scripture verses of 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 usually comes to mind. Most know it as the “Love is patient, Love is kind” passage. If you're hankering for an unusual vacation, visit Mount Raupehu, the loftiest rise on New Zealand's North Island. This nine thousand-foot mountain is a semi-active volcano with a sixty-acre crater lake nestled in its peak - a steaming lake of hot water surrounded by walls of solid ice and snow! Too hot to swim in, the lake is used by tourists for boating amid surrounding snow peaks.

Let us pray....

This is how Mrs. Melania Trump started her prayer on February 18, 2017, in Melbourne, Florida. No one noticed. On January 22, 2005, Ms. Melania Knauss was married to Mr. Donald Trump. As she walked up the aisle, a soprano sang, Ave Maria. And she wore on her person, her grandmother's rosary.

Screwtape, Distraction and a Weekend with the Boys...
By Carlos Espinosa
It is commonly suggested within Christian circles that the Devil will not attack humanity with horns, a pitchfork and flames burning within and around him (outside of Tim Curry in the Hollywood flop, Legend). Instead, he attacks in the temptations we are prone to covet and in the subtleties and distractions that keep our focus away from God and on the mundane and quotidian.
