By E.M. McCarthy
The Joy of Love (Amoris Laetitia) is a papal statement on the family that has garnered controversy because some have viewed it as a way to allow divorced and remarried Catholics to receive Holy Communion without an annulment (meaning the union never occurred as a Sacramental marriage).

That makes his statement at the beginning of Matthew 23 all the more curious.

Good Enough for Jesus and Us!
By Eric Wojtkun
As the gospels tell the story of Jesus living out the acts of our salvation, two great lessons emerge we all need to take to heart. First, Jesus lived the life he calls us to live. Second, Jesus did not say we get to pick and choose what to follow, ignore or be lukewarm on. These are examples of leadership and discipleship we all need to take to heart.

Day 41 – the Wife of Seven Brothers
By David Vermont
Today we read the famous question of the Sadducees and their attempt to trap Jesus. The Sadducees were different from the Pharisees in their theology. They did not believe in the resurrection and they accepted only the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Old Testament. (One can see a parallel in the Protestant’s rejection of some books of the Old Testament).
