My Walk through Purgatory
By Ralph Hathaway
Although this reflection may appear as illusory it has within it the very tenets of what may be reality if one believes in the Catholic Church’s teaching on Purgatory; the Church Penitent with souls waiting on the prayers of the Church Militant along with the Church Triumphant, then it is not illusive to think that an existence of real ministry cries out for intense prayer so we all can realize th

Consequences of Sin in Modern History: the Dragon, the Beast, the False Prophet, and Frogs
By Scott Pauline
Japan is facing an epic social and economic crisis because of its anti-fertility crisis of more than a generation. China, too, is approaching this as a terrible consequence of its long-standing forced abortion policy of one-child-only. Older persons are petrified since there is no one take care of them.

Washing Instructions
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
Just as the body needs cleansing, so also the soul. "Having our bodies washed," we need also to "draw near to God,...having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from guilty conscience" (Heb 10:22).

Day 125 – The Parable of the Sower
By David Vermont
The parable of the sower is a one of the most famous and studied parables of Jesus. Part of its allure is probably the fact that we are given a look at the workings of Jesus’ inner circle when he explains the parable to his apostles.

Turning Milestone Wedding Anniversaries into Monuments
By Rexcrisanto Delson
For the past twenty five years, I have always celebrated our wedding anniversaries by taking my wife out to dinner, giving her flowers, cards, and such. This year I almost paid the same level of attention to our 25th anniversary, which would’ve been a big mistake.

Secrets to A Grace Filled Marriage: Humility and a Sense of Humour
By Melanie Jean Juneau
My husband, Michael, and I will have been married for 39 years on Sept. 1, 2017. After a difficult life, we are happy and still in love. Surprisingly, we have become one in reality, deeply in tune with each other’s spirits even though we are still opposites in personality. Our tangible joy is inexplicable through secular eyes because from all outward appearances our life together has been a tough

Furor over a Juror
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
If we were allowed to determine the outcome of our own trial at the final judgment, could we be as objective as God, who "will judge the world in righteousness and...truth" (Ps 96:13)?

Day 124 – Appointing the Apostles and What makes a family
By David Vermont
In the Bible, important things happen on mountains – Abraham and the sacrifice of Issac, the giving of the 10 Commandments, one of the temptations in the desert, the Beatitudes, the Transfiguration of Jesus, the Mount of Olives, and Golgotha where the Crucifixion occurred. In this episode, Jesus “appoints” the twelve Apostles.

Idiotic Sin - Psychotic Sinner
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
Just as a human being may die of extreme sleep deprivation - a death preceded by total disorientation (Insanity) - an immortal sound can "die" when it is deprived of grace (by committing of mortal sin). "There is a sin that leads to death, " John reminds us (see 1 John 5:16).

Day 123 – Fasting, Doing Good on the Sabbath and Challenging Authority
By David Vermont
There was fasting before Jesus and there will be fasting after Jesus. It is only during the period while Jesus is with the Apostles that the need for fasting in reduced. Still, we can safely presume that there were periods of time that Jesus and the Apostles fasted.

Gender Optional?
By Lorrie McNickle
Does anyone find it curious that in a day and age of gender neutrality or “genderlessness”, gender reveal parties seem to be all the rage? It seems that the revelation of gender for a yet to be born baby generates much excitement and happiness, and typically that excitement and happiness is elicited regardless of the sex that is revealed.

God Has a Plan
By Belinda S. Herring
My first trip overseas was to Israel. While attending a conference in Philadelphia, I met a lovely nun who, on the last day of the conference, invited me to join her on pilgrimage. My taxi had just pulled up to the curb when she came running out of the hotel yelling, “Wait, wait!” She handed me a card with her phone number and said the Holy Spirit told her to invite me to Israel.

Could'a, Would'a, Should'a
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
Thoughts of regret, either casual or overwhelming, arise from rearview mirror glances at our various "could'a, would'a, should'a" situations.

Day 122 – Jesus Heals the Paralytic
By David Vermont
Today we read the famous story of Jesus’ healing of a paralytic. Once again Jesus is teaching in Capernaum. Of note, the first verse says that Jesus was “at home”. It’s not clear if this refers to an actual house that was Jesus’ personal residence but it at a minimum shows that Capernaum was his home town during the period of his public ministry.

Out of the Ashes: Rebuilding American Culture
By Robert Curtis O.P.
After WWII, if America became a beacon, what we did we could somewhat justify to ourselves because our way of life represented freedom. When we defended others, as a superpower, we intended to be on the side of right.
