Spiritual Healings From the Eucharist
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
We have previously discussed physical and emotional healing from the Eucharist. The third kind of healing that awaits us in the Eucharist is spiritual healing. Jesus has promised his true believers an eternal banquet, inviting them to “eat and drink at my table in my kingdom” (Lk 22:30, NAB).

The Resurrection Mystery: a Symbol of the Conversion of the Jews?
By Scott Pauline
The Answer to all Mysteries of the Faith is in Scripture and Tradition The answer to all mysteries of history must lie within the already extant Deposit of Faith. That is, for example, the Fundamentalists are crazy and short-sighted when they think that the “mystery of iniquity” has to do with some secret societies or such.

Why Jesus Rose from the Dead
By JP Nunez
Why did Jesus rise from the dead? The resurrection is the central, defining event of the Christian faith, so it seems like this should be an easy question to answer. However, I think that many Christians today are unable to do so.

The Man Mistaken for a Gardener
By David Torkington
It was at Easter in the 1970's that I first met my wife. I received a phone call from the local convent asking me to drive three Dominican sisters and their friend to Heathrow. It was at the last minute so I had no time to change out of my working clothes.

Did Christ Appear to his Mother on Easter Sunday?
By Joby Provido
In the Philippines where I am from, there is a tradition that takes place just before dawn on Easter Sunday. It is called the “salubong” or roughly translated as welcome encounter. It is a word used, for example, when a loved-ones come from overseas and you eagerly make your way to the airport in anticipation to be with them.

Emotional Healing From the Eucharist
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
The second kind of healing that awaits us in the Eucharist is emotional healing, a healing that occurs in our minds. We have already seen that the fruit of the Spirit – especially love, joy, and peace – are available to us through our contact with Jesus in the Eucharist and provide us with healing beyond the mere physical. In fact, both spiritual and emotional healings ensue when we receive Jesus

It is I myself (Luke 24:39)
By Deborah Burton
The Lord promised to be with us “always, until the end of the age” (Mt 28:20, NAB, emphasis added). These scripture verses came to mind on January 17, 2018 during my 9 to 10 pm Holy Hour at our Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration chapel.

Day 326 – First Letter of John
By David Vermont
Today we begin the first letter of John. There are two apologetic points in the first chapter. First, note that John says that fellowship with the Apostles is important: … we declare to you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:3

Did Jesus Appear to His Mom after He Rose from the Dead? The Gospels never mention it.
By Larry Peterson
The gospel read at the Easter Vigil is from Mark 16: 1-7. In this gospel, Mary Magdalene and Salome have gone to the tomb to anoint Him. This is when the angel appears to them, and tells them He has risen and to go and tell His disciples.

Giving Back Words their Original Meaning
By David Torkington
The local Charismatic group were celebrating forty years since their foundation and were preparing a special Mass for that purpose. The readings, the psalms and the prayers had all been chosen to echo the overall theme of asking God to give his love to all those present and to the whole world that would be lost without it. The visiting preacher came straight to the point.

He Is Risen; He is Risen Indeed!
By Bill Dunn
This week we celebrate Easter Sunday. Alleluia! Christ is risen! Alleluia! I am amazed by people who truly do NOT believe Jesus rose from the dead, and yet are still convinced Christianity is a wonderful religion. These folks believe that Jesus taught some terrific things about social and moral issues, and if we all would just follow those teachings, the world would be a much better place.

The Ultimate Healing that Awaits Us
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
As we have already seen, health-restoring vitality is available through the mutual union of Holy Communion. At the same time, Jesus promises us the most perfect form of healing through the Eucharist with the words, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day: (Jn 6:54, NAB, emphasis added).

Day 325 – Feed My Lambs
By David Vermont
Today we read the last chapter of John’s Gospel. Not surprisingly, he ends with some even more striking parallels. It starts off with a seemingly innocuous statement by Peter, “I’m going fishing.”

Is Ignorance A Sin?
By Victor S E Moubarak
Years ago I knew a man who did not believe in God. He was the kindest, most generous and nicest person you could wish to meet. Always smiling and helping others where he could. He just did not believe in God. He did not do it out of malice or rebellion or in any way in enmity with God. He just lived life as it came and did not venture into religion of any kind.
