By Scott Pauline
Amen! We got it all together now. Now we can probe the Joyful Mysteries as image of the same mysteries, and it will be astounding that everything we have just done will fit perfectly and then some!

The Joyful Mysteries: a Symbol of All Human History? - Part V - The Preeminent Ages: the Flood and Babel
By Scott Pauline
STUDENT: But then, correct me if I am wrong, but your comparison of the Church’s history to the Way of Saint seems to be suggesting something profound that is hitting me: are you saying that the very historical trajectory of the Peoples of God, both of Old and New, follow the Way of the Saint in a historical sense?

A THREEFOLD CONSOLATION IN DESOLATION
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
Suffering can be greatly meritorious and yet it can easily camouflage the presence of God in the soul. As we become more and more spirit-filled, though, it becomes easier to find meaning in the ever-present sufferings of life.

The Joyful Mysteries: a Symbol of All Human History? - Part IV - Comparing Augustine's Amillennialism with Private Revelation
By Scott Pauline
STUDENT: Ok, so we were going to apply this to the Joyful Mysteries. TEACHER: Thank you, but actually, I think it would behoove us to explore this current theology a bit deeper to see that it is not arbitrary but even more ordered and meaningful than we have currently.

Skylight of Hope
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
Stars can be seen only at night, and the darker the night the greater the number of stars. In all our darkest trials, we must learn to highlight each midnight with starlight through the skylight of hope.

The Joyful Mysteries: a Symbol of All Human History? - Part III- The Seventh Night: Private Revelation
By Scott Pauline
STUDENT: This, then, is the seventh night, right? TEACHER: Yes, right. So now, our only options are, the end of the world, or another sunrise followed by an eighth darkness.

Coping With Life's Darkest Moments
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
Put on your thinking cap for a moment. Quickly, choose any number between one and ten. Double it. Add six. Divide two. Subtract your original number. The remainder is three. If you want, try it with every number between one and ten. The remainder will always be three.

Ages of the World in the Joyful Mysteries - Part II - The Age of the Church's Labor against Sin and Heresy
By Scott Pauline
STUDENT: Yes, that fits perfectly. I would like, however, to look into these possibly 3 ages remaining. That is, for the days of creation, as St. Augustine testified toward five ages for the Old Testament, he designates the sixth to the Church.

THIRD SOLUTION TO BEARING A CROSS: COMPLETING GOD'S WILL
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
There is a third interpretation as to how Christ's Gethsemane prayer was answered. This solution maintains that Jesus prayed to be saved from death (if such was the Father's will, of course) and that the Father heard Jesus' prayer and answered it—not by saving Jesus from death, but out from death; that is, by raising him from death on Easter Sunday.

By Scott Pauline
I decided to revisit this subject in a dialog format to make it more entertaining: TEACHER vs STUDENT. Here goes, and enjoy!

SECOND SOLUTION TO BEARING A CROSS: NOT ABORTING GOD'S WILL
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
A second interpretation of "May this cup be taken from me" is that Jesus was simply praying not to die before his appointed time, since that would abort God's plan and fulfill Satan's will. Satan feared Christ's prophesied crucifixion as the culminating act of redemption.

How Did Life Begin on Earth?
By Bill Dunn
for the last four or five generations, science teachers have been telling their students that an even more unlikely event occurred: many years ago, swirling chemicals randomly formed themselves into a living organism, able to take in nutrients and expel waste, and able to reproduce itself.

FIRST SOLUTION TO BEARING A CROSS: SUBMISSION TO GOD'S WILL
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
Jesus' human nature rebelled against pain, for he was like us in every way, he has been through suffering, and knows what it is like when we suffer (see Hebrews 2:17-18). And again, "We do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with us, but one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet without sin" (Heb 4:15).

Three Ways to Carry A Cross
By Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F
Problems are often with us for a long time before solutions are found. The all-pervasive problem of human suffering had been around long before Job, who struggled to find a solution and ultimately discovered it in trusting in divine providence. But the fullest grasp of that solution was not available until much later through the example of Jesus.
