Tim Weinmann was born on July 16th, 1956 and raised in Louisville, KY, the only son of George and Helen
Weinmann. He attended Mother of Good Counsel Catholic School, Trinity High School, and graduated
with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Speed Scientific School at the University of
Louisville. Tim went to work for IBM in Raleigh, NC for just a couple of years before returning to
Lexington, KY where he has lived since the early 1980s.
Tim has four children and Barbara, his wife, have two children. They have been married for almost 19
years. Tim discerned a call to the permanent diaconate in the early 2000’s and was ordained in June of
2008. He has been assigned at his long-time parish of Christ the King since ordination.
Tim had a 35 1⁄2 year career with IBM before retiring in 2015 to become the Director of Faith Formation
at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Lexington, KY – which he considers his dream job. Tim’s real
journey of faith began with his Christian Awakening Weekend in his senior year of high school when the
Lord became real to him and everything that he had learned and experienced in his Catholic upbringing
suddenly came to life. Another major influence on his spiritual journey was when he made his Cursillo
weekend in 1985.
When he is not working at the Cathedral, Deacon Tim loves to be in the outdoors on the golf course.
But most of all he loves working with people who are searching and trying to find what it is in their life
that will bring them true happiness and fulfillment.
