John Paul Bender

John Paul Bender is a young adult Catholic blogger in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee writing "Go Forward Make Noise." His main focus in writing is to encourage and inspire the young adult community to develop a deeper relationship with Christ and His church. John uses past life experiences to relay his messages to his readers as well as promoting local events in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

John is an avid Wisconsin sports fan and enjoys watching the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks.

On Sundays you may hear him cantor at Old St. Mary in Downtown Milwaukee. John is always open to guest posting and receiving feedback from anyone about anything.

Duc In Altum: Put Into The Deep Discernment Retreat with Bishop Donald Hying

This past weekend I went on a silent discernment retreat at Saint Francis de Sales Seminary. It had been quite a while since I had been on one. The retreat was called Duc In Altum, which literally means, to "put out into the deep" and although I didn't realize that it was a silent retreat when I signed up to go, it was exactly what I needed at this moment in my life.
