I am 62 years old and married my high school sweetheart almost 43 years ago. We have one son, a daughter-in-law, and two wonderful granddaughters. I had felt a pull to the Catholic faith since high school even though I’d grown up in the Disciples of Christ church. My wife and I had an opportunity to visit the Vatican in 2005 and I remember buying a rosary for myself and not really understanding why. It became clear a year and a half later when my dad passed away. I hit a wall emotionally and spiritually. It was during that very dark period that I made the decision to come into the Catholic faith. My wife joined me in 2007 and our son and his family joined the Church in 2017. After teaching RCIA for several years I had the opportunity to enroll in a masters program off campus. In 2017, I graduated with a masters in Theology from Loyola University of New Orleans. Although I only teach RCIA occasionally, I still love to share my story of how Jesus Christ guided my family and me into his Church. It is the best thing that ever happened to me.
