Denisea Kampe was raised in the buckle of the Bible belt and brought up in the Protestant faith, but felt the tug of God calling her home for years through people and situations He regularly set in her path. As an adult she test drove several religions, but always came up wanting, until she met and married her cradle Catholic husband. After attending Mass one time, Denisea knew she’d found where home was and enrolled in RCIA. She was baptized and confirmed in the faith on Pentecost Sunday 1999 and quickly became an active participant in her parish. Over the years she’s served as a Eucharistic Minister, with the Altar Society, as a religious education teacher for several grade levels, served on the Parish Council, and as an Adoration coordinator.
Over the course of her husband’s long military career, they’ve been ministered by over twenty priests and found home over and over again in no less than a dozen parishes falling under several diocesan districts to include the Military Diocese. Their motto has always been, serve where planted until uprooted and planted again. With each parish came a new challenge, a new opportunity to serve, and a new learning experience.
In 2009, Denisea found her nest empty and she resumed a writing career which she’d abandoned in lieu of working outside the home and raising her family. For five years she kept a blog which chronicled her writing life and followed her publishing journey, but always along with each success came some degree of disappointment which left a gaping hole in her soul. Serving the secular publishing machine simply wasn’t satisfying and she found herself searching for something more fulfilling. Most of her back titles have been retired and she’s forged a new path in her novel writing which will better serve her desire to share her faith roots. It was with that goal in mind, she also closed the chapter of her blogging life which accompanied her career and opened a new forum, My Exasperated Angel. She looks forward to sharing this new leg of her journey with her readers.
