Charlette grew up in a post WW2 suburb in the San Francisco East Bay Area during the 1960s and 70s. Finished high school, moved around, lived in Berlin for a couple of years, returned to university as an adult and spent many more years there than was completely necessary, collecting various degrees and certificates along the way. Years later, while on a trip to the island of Iona, off the coast of the island of Mull, off the coast of Scotland which is part of an island off the coast of Europe, she met her husband, an Englishman, and now lives very happily in a 1,000 year old village deep in the countryside of Essex.
She is fortunate there is a Catholic church in her village within walking distance of her home since Catholic churches are somewhat sparse in the UK thanks to good old King Henry. She attends mass daily, volunteers at the church, and enjoys reading books about the faith, always.
