Brian Van Putten resides in a quiet hamlet in Eastern Ontario, Canada. He has been married to his wife Shawna for 17 years and is the father of six beautiful children, ranging from almost two to fifteen, here with us, and five little saints in heaven. Brian is currently employed by the roads department of the United Counties of SD&G, plowing snow in the winter and working on road maintenance in the summer. He also works part time as a Funeral Directors Assistant for a group of funeral homes in the area. His passion, however, is his faith and family.
A cradle Catholic, Brian was brought up by parents with a strong faith. Like many teens he drifted away from his Catholic roots, always attending Mass and continuing with the practices of the faith but with no real passion or zeal. Things changed when a special priest arrived in his parish and called him out on many of his bad behaviours and challenged him to live a life for God. With much prayer he turned his life around and discovered a deep love for the Catholic Church, the Church’s teachings and Catholic apologetics.
Brian has a deep love for Christ and His Church and a devotion to Mary. He loves to discuss Catholic apologetics and has spoken at youth groups and other group events. He is also involved in his parish of St. Anthony of Padua, as head of the Catechesis and Evangelization committee and teaches RCIA. Possessing a strong desire to continually grow in his faith and help others understand the reasons behind the Church’s teachings Brian studies Catholic apologetics in his spare time and tries to share his love for Christ and His Church with all those he meets.
