History of Church - Part 2 - 1st century - (50 AD to 100 AD)

Before 1st century, We people are deemed to be punished for our sinful nature but Christ pays the price and redeems us. Peter leads the church as 1st Pope.

1st century (The first 100 years of Church after Jesus has left

21. Peter is the first Pope. The journey of church begins in Jerusalem

22. Many lower class Jewish people convert from Judaism to Christianity. They find new life in Christ.

23. New churches form in places like Corinth, Galatia. An emphasis is made, that all churches are one church in Christ.

24. The Hebrew speaking Jewish and Greek speaking Jewish, though converted to Christianity have arguments as to which old Judaism customs should be carried on. Peter and Paul, the elders handle the situation peacefully.

25. The new Christian communities meet regularly, share and celebrate Eucharist. The Mass is instituted from day one of the Church through the Eucharist celebration.

26. The non Jewish outcast Gentiles are accepted. They choose to become Christians going forward thereby ensuring their salvation (mukti) through Christ.

27. Peter, the first Pope is killed for his faith. He is hung upside down on a cross.

28. Linus becomes the Pope. He is the first Roman to become a pope.

29. Anacletus becomes the Pope. He is the first Greek to become a pope

30. Clement becomes the Pope

31. Evaristus becomes the Pope. He is the first Palestinian to become a pope.

32. Christian population is now five lakhs and they have spread through the Roman Empire.
