The Lesson of the Almond Branch

The LORD said; “What do you see?” “I see a branch of the almond tree,” I replied

Then the LORD said to me: You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to carry it out.

We may be facing the greatest challenge since Martin Luther picked up his tack hammer! Just like 500 years ago, the laity are voting with their feet, and those who stay, like the board of Legatus are voting with their pocketbooks! Every day brings another headline, a new scandal. In their attempt to deflect and down play the scandal the hierarchy insults the laity’s intelligence! Imagine, the environment and immigration are more important than souls!! And, if that weren’t bad enough, the victims of the abuse and those who support them, are accused of being in league with the Great Accuser, (Satan,) attacking the “Holy” bishops to scandalize the faithful!! The conspiracy of silence starts at the top! You couldn’t make this stuff up! Nobody’d believe it!!

Would that it were only a doctrinal or political dispute!! Men of good will on both sides! The Reformation got ugly, but it was a picnic compared to where the current crisis seems headed! Where’s Luther when you need him?? Where’s Jeremiah?

“Today I appoint you...To uproot and to tear down, to destroy and to demolish,to build and to plant.” Jer. 1:10

The religious leaders of His day accused Jesus of casting out demons by the power of the Prince of Demons! He responded by asking; “If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand?” Matt 12:26.
And now the religious leaders of our day claim that the Great Accuser is exposing the sins of the Bishops to cause scandal!! Does this not contradict Our Lord’s words? Isn’t exposing the Bishop’s sin akin to casting out demons? Is it not a house divided against itself??? Is exposing the truth then evil, while sinning in secret is holy??? As Saint Paul says; “God forbid it!”

Jesus promised to watch over his Church to protect it! That’s the lesson of the almond branch in Jeremiah.  God watches over his word to carry it out! His word; “...the gates of Hell will not prevail against it!” That’s the first part of Jeremiah 1:10! The Holy Spirit is uprooting and tearing down, to destroy and to demolish, the corrupt, homosexual cabal in His Church! But Jesus is “watching over his word to carry it out,” in the second half of verse 10 as well, “to build and to plant!”

Keep your eyes on “Christ Jesus, and Him crucified,” He is watching over his word to Perform it!  Just how He rebuilds and to plants His Church remains to be seen, but, that He will is sure!!!
