The Secular and the Divine ...

So, I spend the last three years pursuing graduate studies, and finish just in time to wake up to this mess (gee, God, thanks a lot; I guess you spent your time – and mine – preparing me for the fight).
I’m going to be brief – and blunt – here. The Catholic faithful in America have stood by and supported, both morally and financially, Holy Mother Church, even in the wake of numerous scandals regarding priest/bishops and innocent laity. Now, we are confronted with reports that even seminarians were forced out of their formation, either because they resisted advances, or dared to call out their abusers.
Had the bishops been CEOs of corporate entities, many would have been either removed, sued and/or prosecuted criminally; it is beyond my comprehension how they continue to evade any sort of civil and criminal responsibility for the actions of subordinates. I work for a governmental entity, and I can tell you that, even when the supervisor says they do not know what is happening, they are held accountable, regardless.
Let us all pray an Our Father, Hail Mary and Gloria for our Church, its leaders, the ordained and laity; there are still many trials and tribulations to come in the days ahead.
