Stop asking how

It is written that Jesus tells us that he will always be with us, walk with us. So there is no question or doubt as to that statement. So what is the problem? The real question is, if you will be willing to walk with Jesus? Are you the one that tends to go off on the path of your own choosing?
You walk away from the path that Jesus has put you on, because that path is starting to get bumpy. It's not a smooth walk anymore. So, it's not a question of is Jesus still there, it's a question of are YOU still with Jesus? The path we are led down isn't always smooth and easy. Sometimes it is rough, rocky and full of difficulties. Sometimes the crosses we are asked to carry are very heavy. As we walk, we stumble and fall. Falling on stones can cut and bruise. As weak humans as this happens we tend to start looking for ways around this rough path. In our weakness, we forget to look and grab onto Jesus to keep us going. So we tend to look over and see that smooth road and start walking.
Later we find that we are walking on a path of our own choosing and have walked away from Jesus and the path that God chose for us. Walking the path God has chosen may be rough and you may fall and even bleed. It may seem that you can't go on. Just look to God, he will give you what is needed. Even if you can't see it right away, he is there just as he said he would be. Just hold on and he will help you up bleeding and all, give you strength and help you keep walking.
The path may not be easy and the cross may be heavy. Remember though, if you are willing to keep walking on the path that God has put you on, he will be right beside you all the way. It is your choice whether to walk or not. God will never make you walk where you don't want to. You must walk the path he chooses out of your love for him and your desire to obey his plan.
Sometimes things are meant for your growth and to get you to heaven. But sometimes what you go through is meant for someone else to witness and for them to grow.
