Wise Men from the East

It's getting harder to find things to talk about during my daily visits with my Mom. My daughter suggested that I try streaming Catholic television programming with her. She relates well to the familiar music, images, and prayers, and seems more peaceful afterwards.
It occurred to me this morning that she has known that music and those prayers since she was in her own mother's womb, listening to her heartbeat. Surely now, in her dementia, she is once again growing and developing toward a new birth, recalling the religious practices of a lifetime and moving toward a new burst of life and a new day. The Lord's heartbeat of love will engulf her and she will know her mother once again.
