Honor Mary with a Garden

God has given us this season to quiet our souls. The hustle and bustle of the holidays is over. The quiet of a softly falling snow gives us a chance to reflect upon our lives and the blessings God has so graciously bestowed upon us.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 states:
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens.
This quiet time between harvest and the time for sowing provides us a time to nourish our souls and rest our bodies. Lent will soon be upon us. Our focus will be upon the life and suffering of Jesus before His glorious resurrection. The arrival of spring will herald new life on the earth and hopefully within our souls as well. Take time to celebrate this season.
Spring is still a few weeks away. Snow and freezing temperatures cover much of the earth. Many people cannot see past the plummeting thermometer. God’s glory is all around us if only we have eyes to see. The other morning the sun rose and glistened like millions of diamonds scattered across the snow covered ground. The vivid blue sky provided a bright contrast to the snow covered fields and bare trees. Then that evening, a stunning sunset provided a dramatic pink backdrop for the bare trees silhouetted on the hilltop.
If you take the time to look and listen, you will find that the earth is not dead in winter, but only asleep. Listen carefully and you will hear many birds chirping in the trees. Squirrels chatter and leap from branch to branch. Rabbits, deer and other animals leave footprints behind. Take this time to see God’s glory all around you. He has not deserted us. God has given us a season to enjoy the splendors and beauty of this quiet time before the rebirth of the land and His Son - Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
