Does the Soul Exist?

New book on typical anti-catholic offenses released
How to handle anti-catholic offenses? What to say if you, as a faithful Catholic, are blamed for inquisition, witch-hunt, crusades, wars, oppression of minorities and so on? Thinking about this question for more than five years, I wrote a book on my experiences in discussions about the Catholic Church and Christianity, faith and religion. Experiences that mainly, but not only, grew in online debates, which are known as the most ugly and nasty ones, due to anonymity and the lack of empathy – and knowledge.
The Church is confronted with several criticism and demands, like: "Since the Enlightenment, reason has taken the place of religion!" Or: "The Church has always fought science – and still does today!" Or: "The Church's claim to own the truth has always led to wars!" Or: "The Church totally failed in the 'Third Reich'!" Or: "The Church is completely discredited by countless cases of sexual abuse!" Or – especially in 2017, when we commemorate the beginning of reformation 500 years ago: "The unity of Christians fails due to the unwillingness of Rome!"
As both a faithful Catholic and a professional philosopher I discuss 36 popular offenses confronting them with historical and systematic facts. The result is a differentiated presentation of Church's history and nature, which wants to help all participants in concerning discussions to get to a reasonable judgment on one of the most controversial institutions of humanity: the Catholic Church.
Unfortunately, the book is in German only. So, it only will be of use, if you are able to read German. All those are highly invited to check out the book and get in touch with me for further debate.
