Confession: A Source of Clarification

What if we eliminated ‘What if’ out of our vocabulary? That sentence, itself, is contradictory. Why ask, ‘What if,’ wasting the moment you’re in now and worrying yourself with what is yet to come? There is no need to ask ‘What if’ when God has already planned out the rest of our lives.
Recently, I have found myself wondering, what if my mother’s radiation doesn't work on her brain tumor? I was quickly reminded by a friend, I reached out to, to “stay in the now.” At that very moment, I realized that I was doubting our Lord. In order for us to live joyful lives, it is crucial that we trust in God’s will. Dwelling on what could go wrong, or on unlikely scenarios, only keeps us from being fully “in the now.” Doing so will just bring you down, and that’s exactly what the devil wants from us.
Living in the moment may not come easily for some individuals; however, if we catch ourselves asking “What if,” think about the many blessings that God has already granted you. Thinking of all of those blessings, alone, is enough to completely change one’s mindset and will serve as a reminder of all of the good things that have come of trusting the Lord.
