An Unmentioned Angel

A couple weeks ago, I went to the church my son and his family attend and I’m always pleased when the visiting Monsignor gives his homilies. Over the years I’ve come to enjoy and learn a lot from them.
That particular morning, he started off his homily by saying “he believed everything happens for a reason”. Well, I’ve always been inclined to feel the same way, and seeing over the years how a simple change in circumstance can affect things differently, I was quite eager to hear the story he was about to unfold to the congregation.
In this particular case, Monsignor explained, what happened when he went to one of the other churches he normally visits to say Mass.
On this one particular morning, he said, one of the priests at a nearby church, was unable to say Mass that morning, for some reason or another, so the congregation flocked to the church he was saying Mass at instead. He said the church was packed and he was uncertain if everyone would be able to fit in the church, but somehow, God made it work, and he commenced to say Mass.
After Mass was over, Monsignor said “ a young man approached him. He said he hadn't been attending Mass in the past, but decided to go to church that particular day and was glad he'd gone. He told Monsignor that after hearing his homily, he planned to attend Mass regularly again.”
And that wasn't all, Monsignor even mentioned that another wayward Catholic approached him afterwards and said the same thing.
I could tell by the way Monsignor told his story, he was happy his homily had brought those two young men back to the Church. It was obvious he felt a great deal of satisfaction, knowing God had worked through him to make what happened possible.
Now I ask you, “How fantastic is that? Isn't it wonderful to know that God finds so many special ways to bring His chiildren 'back to Him'
"Was it a coincidence? Nah!"
It's like Monsignor said, “Everything happens for a reason” and he's right. God was the reason and he chose that day to bring two of His lost sheep back with the rest of the flock.
Everything’s possible with the Lord,
and God bless Monsignor K for doing God’s work!
