The Value Of Life

God, He's pretty good right? He created lots of people. He intended for those people to meet, have conversations, and not be alone. That is the purpose of community. In His word, He mentions community fairly often. Out of all the verses about that subject, these two from Hebrews are my favorites. They say, "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
Being in community with other Catholic's is about helping others be the best they can be, about striving to get our Heavenly home. It's not about being alone. Once a month, I meet with a group of ladies. We pray, we lift each other up, we help each other through hard times, we discuss our Cathollic faith, and we are a community. That is important for our faith, for our growth as human beings, and for our hearts.
Why wouldn't you want to be encouraged, prayed for, and needed? Each person in a community is important. Each person has gifts to offer. And when someone is missing, it's not the same. It mentions about that in Romans, "For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."
Think about being in community. Appreciate the ones you are a part of. Be involved. Pray. Act. Love.
