The Most Unknown Common Hero

Our 21st century world does not like to talk about religion, and what just few years ago, was considered as inherent to the person as their personal beliefs, nowadays is a taboo in our job environments and schools’ communities.
Gangsters and drug dealers may solve their problems by using threats, pointing guns or even killing people, while people with faith may not see any religious principles in these actions. So, even when I dislike my co-worker, a relative or when my boss has certainly tried my patience, I will not threaten or kill anyone. I will try to practice forgiveness and understanding because that is what I have learned from my creed, my principles, and I will not be the same person I am without my faith.
Regardless of how the world works, a believer, definitely will answer, act, talk and live accordingly with their believes because after all, that is the idea of practicing a religion, to live accordingly to those principles. For example, as a person of faith when I have a problem, the first thing I do, is pray. For some people, prayer may be meaningless, futile or a waste of time, while for me it is a way of putting my concerns on God’s hands, and the first step on solving my problem.
I am an ordinary person living an ordinary life in this 21st century that has taken God out of my community life. For me, the religion I practice, it is inherent of the person I am. I am soul and body, not only soul, and not only body, and I need to feed both to be happy, to fulfill my dreams, to help my brothers and sisters in Christ, and to face God with a smile when that day comes.
Even though we have taken God out of our lives, God is still there. God is in our office, in our schools, in our community, in our lives. We may not care about God, but He certainly cares about us. We may never talk to God, but He is always listening to us. We may ignore or even insult God, but He stays always at our side.
We may not be allowed to talk about God in schools, work places or other public settings, but we can act accordingly to our faith. When we are patience, generous, when we care for others, and give a hand to whoever needs it, we are speaking out loud about our faith.
I believe that simple actions like opening the door for someone, greeting a good morning, being considerate with the elderly are actions that show a universal language of love.
In Canada, where people with many different backgrounds live under the same roof, difference is the common background, and it is easy on our daily activities to meet someone whose English is their second language. A comprehensive attitude towards people who are learning English, can make that person’s day, instead of making faces because we do not understand what they are saying.
“By their fruit you will recognize them” Matthew 15,16.
I invite you today to look inside your heart and ask yourself if you are happy, you feel to have a fulfilled life? Because this life is not about just passing the days, but living a life that will take us back home to heaven.
If you are honest, you thought to yourself that there is still room in your heart for happiness, please take a few minutes to think about these words: “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you” Saint Augustine.
Today is the day to bring God back into our lives and fulfill our dreams with God’s infinite love and mercy. Bring God into your live and fulfill your heart with endless happiness. How do I do that, may you ask? Just say,” God come to me and stay in my heart.”
Have a happy day!
