Now to most Catholics we know what the Rosary prayer is and how powerful it can be. However I prayed the Rosary for years not knowing the power of it. Until I read a little book about how the Rosary prayer got started and how to do it.
I personally was not aware of the Sacred Mysteries of the Rosary. Once I found that out and what it all meant that changed the prayer. I then started doing it the way it was meant to be prayed.
Now in many circles especially the protestant denominations they think we worship Mary. Here is where the misunderstanding occurs. We do not worship the Blessed Mother we honor her and give her praise and glory for being the Mother of the living GOD in the flesh. Not the Mother of GOD, but the mother of GOD in the flesh being JESUS.
She is above the saints and even above the angels. Why is that you ask? Because she gave birth to GOD in the flesh and was closer to GOD than any other person in human history. GOD was being born in the flesh as JESUS. So that puts her above all living creatures in all of creation. The Queen of Heaven right next to JESUS and the mother for all of humanity no matter what your belief or non belief is.
Which brings us back to the Rosary prayer. Remember at the wedding at Cana she told them, “to do what he tells you.” Meaning do what JESUS tells you. That goes for all of us even right now, do what he tells us.
Now the Rosary and The Sacred Mysteries is a prayer that brings us closer to JESUS. It is not worshipping Mary but we meditate on the life of JESUS and his journey through this human life. The Sacred Mysteries is about looking at JESUS in certain areas of his journey and seeing what he went through that brings closer to him. Mary brings us closer to her son not away form JESUS. That is the whole idea of the prayer to get closer to JESUS in our daily lives.
So take a look at the Sacred Mysteries of the Rosary and meditate and contemplate on each area and you may see things you never saw before about the life of JESUS.
