Jesus and the Pharisees
Do you have a family? If you say no, then you are wrong. We are all family. God's family. We inherited each other the moment we were formed in our mother's wombs. Anyone who tries to halt that formation, better watch out. The growing family of God does not stop with abortion. That's sweet baby lives on. No one can destroy what God has already created. In the gruesome minds of the people touched by evil they will see someday and be shown the error of their ways.
All families have struggles and trials. Some more than others. With a great mystery of "why,", to be told us, once we are face to face with God. There is a purpose for everything. Undauntingly surrendering our will to God's, He gives us Peace in His decisions. Therefore making it our decision to allow His Peace to come in. Our broken hearts may remain broken until death, but the brokenness is eased somehow by Jesus's watchful gaze upon our sorrow. Family is there. Or should be there, to ease that sorrow. Just don't let your thought of family stop with your immediate family. Family is friend, relative, spouse, and an unknowing smile from a stranger. It could be neighbor or a passing car full of children. Seeking God in all human beings, allows us to see that smile. That comforting hello, that gentle touch of a handshake or hug. Offering it to others, "your family", not only makes them feel better but also yourself. Pray for those who do not want or refuse your kind intentions. Pride and brokenness are too tough emotions to break through to. But it is possible.
Like Father Danek says, "put your "to do" list aside for today and make the Beatitudes the list you will follow". There you will find your family. In doing so you just might find that other family member who needed you at just the right moment.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in you.
