On Prayer to Our Redeemer

One of my favorite prayers Anima Christi tells exactly who Christ is to me:

Soul of Christ, sanctify me;

Dear Jesus, help me make decisions according to Your Word.

Body of Christ, save me.

With the help of my brothers and sisters in Christ, save me from need and want.

Blood of Christ, inebriate me;

May Your blood wash over me and heal my body and soul.

Water from the side of Christ, wash me.

Without Your holy water, I thirst, please clean me with Your everlasting presence.

Passion of the Christ, strengthen me.

I need Your passion to face trials everyday.

O good Jesus, hear me.

Good God, please hear my petition, because I am anxious without You.

Within your wounds hide me.

Hide me from those who wish to harm me.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

May I never be separated from You, because I would be lost.

From the evil one protect me, 

The evil one is real and I fear him. Please protect me from the wiles of the enemy.

at the hour of death call me,

I stand convicted that You will one day raise me from the dead.

and bid me to come to You that with Your saints I may praise You forever. 

May I hear You call my name one day.

Amen.
