An Unmentioned Angel

When the ball fell at Times Square to signify the beginning of a new year, 2017, it also signified the passing of the previous year, 2016.

And as I watched countless videos on TV and saw pictured in various magazines those who had left us in 2016, it was interesting to see who was considered noteworthy of recognition. There were of course numerous celebrities, which is always the case, and there was mention also of a very well known golfer and astronaut. There was even a very well known author mentioned too, but with all the names announced, I never heard, once, one name I felt sure, should have been there too, Mother Angelica. That very beautiful lady who had also touched so many lives for so many years in so many ways.

When I think of Mother Angelica, I think of a marvelous lady who was truly an ‘Angel of God’ on Earth. She did so much for us and with us.

She spread the good news of God's words on her television show EWTN (the Eternal Word Television Network). She enlightened our minds with books she wrote. On a daily basis, we prayed with her, listened to her and watched her as she brought the good news of God's promises to us.

For those of us who were able to know her by inviting her into our living rooms on a daily basis, we were fortunate to gain so much from this wonderful lady and we were truly blessed with the love and devotion she felt for all mankind.

Mother Angelica will always be remembered by those of us who loved and cherished her, and though she may not have been among those mentioned leaving us in 2016, she is not forgotten, and I'm certain that in 2016, God welcomed home a very beautiful angel!
