Plenary indulgences
Pray, pray, pray. Never ever stop praying. Even when you feel at your lowest and you feel like you've been repeating the same prayer, never stop praying. There is a lesson still being taught if the prayer has not been answered. Ask God to show you and He will. Whether it be for more trust or a simple resignation, Peace will enter in and you will know your prayer has been answered. Maybe not in the way you expected, but in God's way. And that is always the perfect way. Hard as it is to always see and accept God's way, truly, it is "always" the best way. We are a stubborn breed. We think many times that we need it immediately or that we know what is best, when it is completely the opposite of what our Lord deems fitting. We must constantly pray to remain guarded against feelings of anxiety, depression, hopelessness and anger. Those are tools of the evil one and quite easily spotted by him when turmoil or trials occur.
A person's state of mind is weak from the weight of a trial and the evil one is a coward in his attempts to strike us when we are strong. That's why he waits. Like a cat on a fence. He watches for the perfect moment to pounce on his prey. We are his prey. He knows he has no power when The Shield is worn by us through the power of God. The evil one is a bully. He pounds and pounds on us thinking that we will surely succumb to the blows he gladly lays upon our weakened state. We must rise and keep ourselves in constant Union with the Heavens, especially when all hope seems lost. By choosing God, we choose Victory. We somehow have that sweet break in the clouds to allow sunlight to peek through. And that is through prayer and trust and surrender.
When all Hope seems lost, keep swimming. Keep walking towards the light. God will never ever ever let us down. He proved that by dying on that cross. We are saved.
