Let God Revive Your Dead Faith
What if I tell you that I’ve only written 700 articles in a span of four years? I am referring to my time so far with Catholic 365, and man, it has been a journey.
I didn’t think I would hit the 700 article threshold that quickly, but I digress.
I give credit to a wonderful friend and colleague who encouraged me to write for this Catholic site. It is a decision that I will never regret.
It was the summer of 2022, and I was getting ready to begin a new employment, but I never knew my writing talents could reach the masses as a colleague from a national outlet told me.
Sure enough, I rolled the dice and thought that writing would not be such a bad idea. Since August of that year, I have written movie reviews, reflections, news, tips, books, opinions, and some occasional exposés.
There were times when I was proud to see my article trending in the top five. Now and again, readers can see my name trending twice. Even my wife loves reading my article that is trending.
Yeah, it has been a journey. This is not to brag, but I hope it motivates my colleagues or aspiring writers to put their faith into writing. It has helped calm my stress at times, and it even keeps me at ease. I do offer three pieces of advice for those who want to write for Catholic 365 or other platforms.
Don’t Be Afraid
The bible gives us this phrase 365 times. If we have something to express, we must say whatever it is. Never back down if someone pressures you to take down an article. I’ve been there.
Always Write
I once had a professor in college who told me that writing is like lifting weights. The best way to get better is to always keep writing. I felt my talent was needed for this platform.
Come Up with Something Original
I love seeing my colleagues try to write something about the same thing or looking for ways to break the ice. I was no different. Even my wife would give me ideas during one of the liturgical seasons to write about.
Never stop writing about the faith. It must be preserved. Always find something and write with the lenses of faith. It may inspire someone.
For any Catholic who would like to be a part of a great team of writers, eager to bring the message of Christ through news, movies, reflections on life or even the readings of the day, I encourage you to join me and nearly 100 members. You won’t regret it.
