Can anyone see a Spirit?
Church Dogma and Politics; which one is prominent?
The first commandment condemns polytheism. It requires man neither to believe in, or venerate, other divinities than the one true God. Scripture constantly recalls this rejection of “idols,” of silver or gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but do not speak; eyes, but do not see.” These empty idols make their worshipers empty: “Those who make them are like them; so are all who trust in them.” God, however, is the “living God” who gives life and intervenes in history. (CCC 2112).
This brings us to the term Progressivism which is being used by the Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in regards to the far left by the Democrats. However, the beginning of any human being following their own way regardless of what was put before them was Adam and Eve.
Does this ring a bell when the past eras of humanities growth stresses the attitudes of people who disregarded the commandments of God and went their own way?
Reading the progression of humanity and the different aspects in Genesis, we are reminded that there are 50 chapters in this first book. There are a lot of colorful people and the many do’s and dont’s that had an effect on the rest of humanity. Cain killed his brother Abel: Jealousy. (Gn 4: 8 - 10), Noah received a command to construct an Ark, large enough to house his family and mates of every animal and bird; to avoid the flood that was on its way; a punishment of the world’s inhabitants over their wickedness and disregard for God, their creator. (Gn 6: 5 - 8). Then the quest of mankind, by the Tower of Babel, to reach their own heaven according to their selective choice of being their own unique ruler and god. (Gn 11: 1 - 9).
Finally God selected Abram where his call would change everything we now embrace by understanding and following the requirements of God.
What type of leadership should a Christian choose to embrace and teach the intricacies of God’s Commandments which are preparing us for the Passion of Christ who will finally sacrifice his holiness that we should find eternal life with him.
Over so many centuries we can see how man has brought nothing but an inclination to allow evil to regulate the greed that is all around us to flourish by World Wars and so many other skirmishes that accomplish nothing but pain and death to millions while the respect for God has all but become an absence of our worship.
Politics has become the one human entity that in one respect has helped to guide the leaders to place controls of law and order for the good of their people. However, there is another side of how the evil of power from too many dictators has corrupted the policies of guiding the people as a tyranny that has destroyed the world in too many countries.
Republicans, Democrats, Socialists, Communists, and perhaps others that claim to have the people’s interest as the number one criteria. Each one has an agenda that will please some, but not all. Where do we go from here when the Constitution of the United States was prepared by the Fathers of our nation and for almost 250 years has been our strength. However, there are now factions who want to find flaws in these pages of history that want to eliminate what does not agree with their philosophy. This is what Justice Clarence Thomas was speaking about and the ones who will be hurt are you and me, our children and grandchildren.
But the most critical aspect will be the loss of Church and as Catholics our Sacraments. The apostasy, as I have been speaking about, is one sign that it isn’t our particular choice of politics that matters, it is the same scenario that affected the aforementioned situation with Cain and Abel, the citizens of Noah’s time, the Tower of Babel, and all the failures of humanity that has allowed the kingdom of Satan to get a foothold and watch the Kingdom of God to be attacked within; through the lack of spirituality and the God of our forefathers who trusted him over political aspirations.
