Rebates aren't just for things you purchased at the store! You can use your good deeds and earnest prayers for loved ones, the poor souls in Purgatory and even yourself!
Definition of rebate: "a sales promotion technique where customers receive a refund or portion of their purchase price back after completing a purchase rather than at the checkout."
Didn't Jesus die to purchase back our lives and souls on the cross? Yes! He most certainly did! We were all like items on the shelf ,just waiting to be bought back by the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ Our Lord. In return, we are His rebate. We are His "full amount of purchase". Some rebates take weeks or months to return. Some are immediate, if the product is damaged and then it's called a "return".
Our prayers, good deeds, our deep desire to love God, are in a sense, our rebates to Him. We ask for Peace and the rebate is given back to the extent of the sincerity and purpose. We asked for relief, depending on the righteousness of the wound. If it will be beneficial to our souls as of yet, and if we understand the suffering is given back 100%, and the relief to the severity of that suffering, knowing and believing God's promise to never give us more than we can handle. Some rebates can be used for those who have died and gone before us. Some for friends, or anyone that we feel is in need of sincere prayer. Having the rebate, duly used for both our souls and there's. Both, reap the reward.
Take time to fill out that rebate! Use it for non-material items "and" spiritual gifts. Anything given back to God in correct portion will be returned to us 100%.
Jesus purchased us for a price. Let us give back to Him, that which was taken from us. His presence, His teachings, His word. Pretty much, all in all, Him.
Because remember, we are His and His we wish to be.
