The trouble with weeds
How many times have you asked for forgiveness? And how many times has our Lord forgiven you? Again, and again and again..... Too many to remember. Countless times we crawl back, yes crawl, to the merciful face of God after we have closed that door, only to see Him open it once again. Thinking we can go it on our own, only to find ourselves back to the very thorns we place in our skin. Back to the very beginning, where He found us so wretched and lost, again. We step forward and then push ourselves back five steps.
No one on this Earth would continuously pick us up from our woes the way our Heavenly Father does. We might forgive, but we do not forget. His love is pure. Our love is tainted with remembering. Our hearts hold grudges. But His, releases everything into the ocean of that Love that He declared when He created us. Calling us good. No greater Hope will there be in being a child of God's. We place our burdens upon ourselves, not Him. We deserve His justice. Every time we make our confession and beat our chest at the words at the mass and say, "through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault", we are declaring that it was us who did it and no one else. We conclude the fact that we ourselves are responsible for falling out of Grace. He watches from the Throne of Heaven with a heavy heart, but rejoices in our choice to turn to Him once again for forgiveness. He opens His Fatherly arms, welcoming us poor creatures back into the fold.
I am grateful, that we have a constant God. I pray that His infinite Love and Mercy will abide, as I keep trying, again and again and again.
